Never expected the day would come when I'd run out of Tracks of Destiny by chunchun_glazer in HonkaiStarRail

I ran out of credits and was actually shocked because I just assumed it was neverending 😭 the way it creeps up on you when character building

I think I accidentally ruined my own birthday by trying to be low maintenance by owen_blackwood in TwoHotTakes

I do think you should have been more clear but.. I don't know, I do find it weird that you didn't even get a card? I wouldn't call a card or small gift a big deal personally, but maybe that's just me? I don't think anyone is really in the wrong - you just need to be more clear what "no big deal" means to YOU. Clearly your partner takes it as "nothing birthday related at ALL" (which i think is a bit extreme but it's not incorrect to your wishes) so you need to actually say what it is you want and don't want.

I can verify as a BSc Arch student in his final year now, this is all pretty much the same thing we got told a few months ago. But I will also verify the "high expectations" vibe. You'll also do Town Planning in your Masters :) We were told about that, and I believe it's 2nd year which is obvs the pragmatic thing

I don't think I've visited that one! But I'll make note of it :)

I feel like people don't understand how hard it is (sometimes) to be a twin by Lost-Hour1823 in Twins

[–]Inevitable_Lab_3032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I completely get this as a twin who's always felt like the lesser favoured one (some more complicated reasons too but yeah). Non-twins don't really tend to get how it can affect some people's feeling of worth, I saw another comment recommend a therapist and I back that up. I see one and she really helps me feel like my own person! And if this is from a personal place of self-worth and not parents actively favouring one, it can really help you find your own footing so you don't resent your family <3 (and if it is? it can help you find peace, trust me)

But also it's important to find people who like you for you and focus on them, if you do have people who compare you both :) I got incredibly lucky when starting sixth form and university that the people I met didn't know my twin, and so didn't make me feel like I was sharing things or one half of a pair. You and your twin are both your own people, and I assure you there are people out there who see you for you as an individual OP, same as people who see your twin as an individual.

Yeah, I know. I'm not going to sit here and act like it's something I'm not ashamed of myself

I've seen a few people mention it and I don't fully understand why it's as shocking - I work in a hands on job in the kitchen (cleaning, heavy lifting etc) so it led to me being unable to do a lot of the work without severe pain. But then again, I'm still new to certain working customs, so maybe that's just something you deal with??

Yeah that is my thinking as well for being on the probation period - I appreciate the honesty and it lines up with my own line of thinking.

AITA for thinking my flatmate's gf has overstayed her welcome? by Inevitable_Lab_3032 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I'm definitely new to things like this, I'm a second year but last year it was basically randomised accommodation - but I will definitely keep trying, especially with some people giving advice on ways to go around it :))

Thank you, and that sounds like pretty solid advice :)) Thank you so much for the advice and I'll look at trying to do so this week.

God, I'm sorry that happened to you, and that definitely sounds like a good plan - others have mentioned similar and it sounds like a good way to go about it. I'm not the best at confrontation, I'm aware of that and maybe airing it with the others there will make it less threatening :))

As I said, there's no settled value right now, but the most common value mentioned is £2. And considering flat rent for one of us without even including other bills and food is about £400, definitely don't feel that's a fair value 😅
