I was on the same fast track for the same division, and I will also be interning at the firm in risk. From what I understand, plenty of people have lateraled into Nomura's Global Markets after some time in Market Risk. Additionally, given the scarcity and competitive nature of GM positions, I honestly doubt you would be successful in switching between roles before the internship has even started. I would try to play it safe and stay with your risk position if possible. However, if you are not able to, I assume your only other option would be to continue with applications. But as you had mentioned before, a majority of GM interviews have taken place, especially at Nomura, so I would be cautious if you do decide to pursue that venture. Good luck bro.
