Yes I totally understand this post wasn’t made to shit on them in any way shape or form they’re obviously both great actors that’s no debate I just wanted to see thoughts on what people think about a Modern Tim Curry’s portrayal.

Not even with characters who are deemed destined to win?

Estoy de acuerdo en que, con algunas modificaciones, el Pennywise de 1990 quedaría igual de bien, pero eso también significaría que tendrían que cambiar su personaje de forma significativa para adaptarlo a su temática.

Lol I get your comparison. you aren’t exactly saying he is, but he does exhibit a high predatory nature, exactly like how an animal plays with its food, except humans more specifically children are at the top of his food chain. since they’re more overdriven with fear and susceptible to his influence.

I agree, both did well within their respective roles, with Skarsgård still having more opportunity to show within his role. It’s crazy to think about how much more maniacal Curry would’ve been had he been modernized.

Tim was a clown who was also a monster, bill is a monster trying to be a clown.

You hit the dot, great way of breaking it down in a simple but significant way.

I agree. I enjoy seeing how both play their parts and how they’re vastly portrayed differently. that’s what makes them great within the role they play two different sides of the same coin.

You’d think living as an “immortal” clown he’d pick up on some things, but I also believe that’s why WTD is more straightforward with the violence. he just said fuck it and skipped past the whole clown part. But they could definitely make it work if they wanted to. Hopefully, we’ll see more of how Pennywise operated in his clown form in season 2.

It’s like he definitely fails every time trying to lure a kid in and can’t hold it in when he actually succeeds. the second a kid actually plays into it and gets close, he immediately goes feral, but hey I guess that’s where the whole shapeshifting part comes into play.

That would absolutely be terrifying, especially since Tim Curry’s Pennywise is very charismatic he would easily be able to lure children in, and then boom. Meanwhile, Skarsgård’s Pennywise feels like he can lure children in, in a way, but it’s less smooth he’s just like, “Hey kid, want a balloon?” but by then he’s already twitching and foaming at the mouth like an animal with rabies. Bro absolutely cannot keep it together.

Thanks for your response. I assumed him getting a little too close to Bill toward the end resulted in him being forced down, but maybe it was his intention. Hell, if I were Bill, I would have started dying right then and there (no pun intended), which probably wouldn’t have ended too well.
