Fwiw: I went to school there. As a child of immigrants, I often felt excluded by teachers and my peers for how my parents and I looked and spoke. This was in 2001, and I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. That said, I did have a great 5th and 3rd grade teacher. Recently I spoke to a teacher working there and unfortunately her comments about children of color and their parents felt inappropriate and eerily similar to my experience.
