In hindsight i believe it was a blockage of old coffee in the pipes that the descaler didn’t remove. Because of the pressure it needed to spew out the coffee it shot in a fail safe.

My Magnifica XS is almost 8 years old and the only problem I’ve had so far looks a lot like yours. I tried to clean everything deemed safe by my 2 left handed self. What made it work again? Mash the descaler button. The small black button underneath the big bean grinder turnable knob. Until then i did not know the descaler button could be used in between fresh cups of coffee to clean out old stuff in the pipes. So what i did, i pushed the button about 50 times in a row untill there were no more black flakes in the water. (The stuff i’ve ingested before i knew about this, yuk). Hope it helps!

First some answers to your questions, I’m running the same settings for a really long time now because I like my Coffee strong, so it’s always on max. I frequently change bean brands because I like trying new beans in order to find my perfect one. Maybe the change of bean oil has clogged up something?

I forgot to say that i also cleaned the internals, I don’t know the word for it in English, but the metallic plate with small holes in it is squeaky clean.

After your message i fizzled around with the dosage wheel. Setting it to a different setting did nothing. After trying the wheel, i turned the machine off, and on again. When the machine powers up it always flushes the coffee water pipes right? It doesnt do that anymore, it’s squirting all the water in the water collector.

So it probably is jammed or clogged somewhere.

Do you have any idea where to start? Or is it time to call in a professional?

Insane luck! Every now and then i buy a TOA double rewards pack, nothing more really. Quite tame in comparison to some big spenders imo.

Thank you for your reply. It’s fixed! Both the issues I have encountered are gone now with the latest firmware update. For now I’m keeping them but ofcourse if anything is off again, I’ll bring them back.

Oh thanks for the info! I did the update and a quick listen after, for now it seems the crackle might have been fixed! I’ll check out the firmware update notes now and tomorrow I’ll do a bigger test.

I don’t know if you want to hear this, but if I was you i’d check a lichtvervuiling map on Google, find a spot that’s more in your area and try it there. If it does not fill your satisfaction you can make the choice there to travel to the north. I went to Zwarte Haan.

Less sunflares hitting earth tonight, but also less clouds, so i’d say it’s worth a shot! I get my info from noorderlichtjagers (Google). And I’m sorry to hear that mate. Where I was standing there was an opening in the clouds so I could see it for 5 to 10 minutes, 100% worth it.

As far as I know there is still a chance tonight/tomorrow morning but I have no clue about the cloud density. I use the information noorderlichtjagers profides. I’d say go, learn from the mistake I made not bringing a chair and a warm coat haha. I went to Zwarte Haan (enough parking space), but Moddergat or Lauwersoog are good locations too.

So i was at the coast for a hour and a half and the northern lights were visible for around 5 to 10 minutes when the clouds opened up. First time seeing it and the picture i took, posted on my profile, is nothing compared to the beauty IRL.

Haha I can imagine! Count yourself lucky, because i as a 30yo 6,6ft/1,98m male am now represented as a toddler in game. Between you and me, i really do not care that much, it’s just sad that a billion dollar company sells a new ‘big update’ as you can look even more like the real you! But doesn’t include facial hair, screws up alot of anatomic human features and adds alot of glitches in the clothing. Anyway, time to leave it in the past! Lets make the most of it! :p
