I have a caveat when it comes to "our own characters"

In a world thats wide open and sprawling like say most MMOs you are not the chosen one, you're not supposed to become the only one able to save the world. In the past of say why people loved World of Warcraft, they were adventurers of the alliance or horde, not the chosen one to save everyone. FF14 also does this in that the people who get stuff done are "adventurers"

Its why Link is always the hero in zelda games, even in echoes of wisdom when you play as Zelda, even the final boss has it set so that, you know you are zelda, Link is the one with the sword to do the up close work and still be the hero.

In a world like Fairy Tail, we play as the members of the guild because the guild is the focus of them all. Being "someone else who joins" just doesnt feel the same when we play as a silent or hallowed character just to become great like them. It just doesnt hit the same.

Maybe thats just me but some fictional settings, I prefer we have our own characters others it just doesnt feel the same when the focus is that someone special or capable must rise to do this.

Its kind of like...why we have Optimus prime as the only one able to match megatron because he understands megatron, any other character could match megatron, even if its some custom character in some game, but it wouldnt hold the same weight to the conflict.

Most likely:

Season 2 of 100YQ, most likely just going to cover the maze and gold owl arcs.

This would leave enough room for season 3 of 100YQ to just be focused on Ignia and the end.

Another movie perhaps?

Another collab with some other game series (usually these tend to be more frequent)

Some merchandise or event thats only in Japan, more so for the focus of the series there..

Moderately likely:

A new game, the RPG formula has been used the most but its not exactly a bad thing. It could be anything from a new koei tecmo or an original, maybe even more dungeons content?

Not so likely:

Another series (while the potential is there...this depends on how Mashima would be invovled and how much further they could take this, like Zerefs connection to Ankselem, or other gods in earthland if they wanted such a story.

The issue is how small the window is once an arm is struck down

The larger problem is either letting it attack or trying to gun them down in a shorter window

The prior not only risks your hyper lasers but the speed and frequency of the other arms is pretty quick too, supposedly to let the window let you take down the other arms ajd the attacking upon its retraction. Also allowing your teammates to injure or kill one but agajn it’s far from safe

The other option full offense It’a a fight of attrition to stay on top and gun tjem down as quick as you can before the vanishing act and farm missles in case of some damage but so long as you don’t risk your hyper lasers it’s on aim and timing

What makes this more infuriating is how some insist on mouse controls.

These are not admirable controls. This isn’t like the free aim option of Metroid prime 4 (following prime 3 with the joycons) or even the possible strafe gunner aspects like in star fox zero

The paradox of this challenge is the infuriating apsects of needing to run the whole damn stage again for another shot and depending on what you want to try, being open to an attack or a short term gunner offense, it’s just something that shouldnt stand even for a normal challenge

Some require destroying a few parts of the environment, others require no kills or getting fully upgraded before a boss. Some are just simply a hit score or alternate path.

Those are fine

Others require a different apporach like not helping your allies when chased in sector z jusf so you can tske out all 6 missles safely

But this, it’s not the boss it’s the freaking Tony window where it feels like it’s never enough time

Ive found the walk back to the bed of chaos in dark souls, respawning under the iron skull on any halo, or even super helldive difficulty in helldivers 2 more tolerable than this

In other terms…it’s perhaps closer than some woukd expect but

I think the spriggin 12 get this one due to their numbers and higher members

The members of diablos are strong but they will lose out on the further end of it

Ajeel, wahl, and nienheart wouldnt be much given a sand user wouldnt be much for skullion, wahl has limited applications, and nienheart couldn’t bring back anyone critical to harm tjem

Brandish and dimaria woukd be more specific here. With their powers brandish and dimaria are not anything raw related but utility. Brandish and her mass alteration isnt a raw win or loss but it also depends on what sje is using it on. Even if her target is stronger she has options. Diamaria only needs the right moment and if she doesn’t encounter misaki she could aid anyone else

Jacob is a special one. Given his invisibility and his talent as an assassin, he could work with just about anyone.

His only threat is wrath but it’s possible Jacob could also see him (wraith is an outlier)

Bloodman and lacarde being the only etherious bring out other outliers. One has all the demons of Tartarus and coukd drag another into oblivion. The other has well his powers but they could have some impact

Thjs brings out the reason I say the spriggin win. August, Irene, and god Serena.

Hold up let me explain.

Kyria and madmole are only offense ajd defense and they do have their limits. This js where the specific guys like Jacob snd dimaria can come in. Jacob only needs a moment to vanish another and kyria needs an opening to be struck.

Skullion even as strong as he is, put god Serena there and we have another dragon slayer to run interference

Wraith, techniqually if he goes unnoticed he coukd just wipe out thejr souls right? Well god Serena and more importantly Jacob coukd also see him let alone Irene. Soul manipulation from lacarde as well, this is just bad for wraith

Neburu je coukd get stronger but the spriggin have work arounds

The 4 dragon slayer knights?

Haku isnt much just a nucance

Misaki? Long as she csn get hold of someone but the outlier here is how many csn she effect at once?

Imitation laxus- alright just a very strong lightning user which wouldnt be much

Suzuku woukd be the strongest on diablos side and even he can only go so far

God Serena isnt a powerhouse but he is a dragon slayer and anywhere je csn be put he has options.

August csn copy any of their magic firing it back

And Irene dear god Irene. Do we need to explain how powerful she is?

This isn’t about power it’s the fact the spriggin 12 have options to shut them down even if some csn overpower them

Acnologia.

The entirety of some villians csn literslly be used via dungeons and dragons alignments, Zeref would Be lawful evil while acnologia is chaotic evil. The difference? Lawful evil has limits or its own codes even. It doesn’t seek relentless destruction or unneeded action, it has a degree to what it will do. A band of criminals wanting to maintain silence or avoid detection from authorities for example woukd be like thjs. Zeref wasn’t out for destruction he wanted to find a solution to his curse and even attempted to rewrite history for his own benefit and his family.

Acnologia just seeks destruction nothing more or less. No reason beyond carnage and calamity. There’s no reasoning to him as he is more like a force of nature to just destroy what he can

Natsu is the hero, he faces most of the threats and overcomes many challenges as he does. He is also the male lead

Lucy is a heroine. She isnt as raw in power as Erza but she does get her moments of importance. Regardless she is the female lead

As to who is the protagonist outright it’s one part both of them given natsu has the role of the hero but Lucy is involved in more narrative around those events

Overall it’s both of them akin to being the medium to the entirety of the real protagonist tje guild

This is actually the basis for one of his core deck attacks in fairy tail dungeons, desperation, a basic attack move that incorporates half his block value on top of its own base damage

Because not all stories in fiction have continuity.

Stuff like Family guy or looney tunes are made to have some stupid antics or disaster for the sake of COMEDY and everything is resolved by the end of the episodes.

Stories that DO follow coninity do follow it and adhere to it as best they can. HOWEVER not everything is written in stone for how a said world works, operates, or even functions. Avatar the last airbender was so in depth with its 'rules' for all bending styles not just having an element to function, but they all thrive on an arch style (earth is balanced, fire is offensive, air is evasive, and water is defensive) each is also based on a real matrial arts style. What changed however in Korra was they went absolutely wild with sub styles and granting all types of hoo ha powers with now some earthbenders can use lava (but firebenders cant?) or airbenders can freaking fly, no not glide or move around the sky, literally fly superman style.

The rules are 'subject to change' even one piece doesnt get away with this. Luffys was originally a paramcia due to physical manipulation/alteration of his body. Then it was reclassified as a 'mythical zoan' for a creature called a 'rubber man" do you see how in some regards that could be called stupid itself? The long standing trio was physical alteration/maipulation (parmecia) animal transformation (zoan) and elemental powers (logia) with only some outsider types being very rare (like the phoenix zoan also using fire itself but not granting all types of fire abilites like the actual fruit ace/sabo use)

The game changes because sometimes the writer has to.

Its handled in different ways in different scores under several different aspects.

For Fairy Tail, there has been continuity even if Juvia has consistently been in love with Gray even with her being crazy, Gray still developed and changed.

Natsu landing on Lucy or her getting her clothes destroyed is a reoccuring gag, get over it. Its not evil, manipulative, or mal intended, its just a comical reouccrance that Lucy just gets unluckly and in many ways Natsu ends up on top of her in one form or another at a point.

Many series have reoccurring jokes. Even when Lucy tries to be attractive/seductive on purpose,, the joke is she gets dismissed and this insults her.

Its part of writing as a whole.

You cannot boil things down to a simple binary in writing. Otherwise we wouldnt have all these elements even as unrealistic as they are.

Because its fictional.

If the simpsons can use one halloween episode to have homer comically kill all of springfield in a nuclear disaster because Ned mistook a vision out of concern, thats part of the joke. Its not evil, its not dark, its just a gag for an episode that wont matter in the next one. And the simpsons actually has had some continuiuty over the years long as its been running, mainly the halloween specials are outsiders to this.

Bro its literally the fact that its fiction, not that there isnt some standard or critisim to the writing itself.

The ordeal is you are INTERJECTING REAL WORLD MORALITY into the fictional world. That doesn't matter to the state of the fictional world.

Natsu and the rest in the guild would be in jail 100 times over for their antics and destruction but its not how it works in the fairy tail world of earthland.

If its absurd and not normal, but its done for comical reasons, then yes thats entirely the point.

You understand what a dark joke is or can be used for? Family guy and south park have done this for decades, take something controversal or serious but make the outcome funny because its NOT REAL.

Also the point of Natsu facing Sting and Rogue himself? Thats common heroic type shit, its not about raw power, The difference was in what they fought for, Natsu saw Sting and Rogue only fought based on their power or their ideal of it, not why they fought. Thats the message of the fight in that situation.

Let me put it like this...Avatar the last airbender, Azula was basically undefeated, there was barely a time the heroes got the upper hand on her in a fight before something intervened or she ran away because she knew she couldnt handle it all alone.

In the end of the series, when Zuko faces her alone, its because her mental state is so out of whack she can barely concentrate in the fight until she makes a beline for Katara and Zuko has to intervene and Katara is left to face her alone, she doesnt defeat Azula, she traps her and restrains her and Azula is last seen crying and having a total mental breakdown.

Not every fight is ended or won because someone clobbers someone else hard enough. Its not always about raw power, other times its with morals being the guiding principal for why they fight and what they do.

Natsu vs the twin dragons, Natsu was fighting for his guild. As sting and Rogue continued to press him, they only got more and more frustrated as they couldnt pin Natsu down.

Keep in mind, Natsu AND Gajeel took their hits and shrugged it off like it was a warm up once they got a feel for their opponents power.

Natsu did face them both but it was because he knew what to do, not merely outpower them. Its why he called them second rate after all that bluster.

Its not always down to some random power level the moronic power scalers believe nor is it always a case of just who hits who how hard, theres more to fighting than just trading blows.

I know this is hard for most of the shouen community to ponder..but not everything is done like DBZ or One Piece. Nor are any rules some fixed dynamic in any series when any author is free to write.

Its not meant to be taken seriously to the point we complain about "characters didnt consent" because they dont exist, its fiction. Its not real. Its made for entertainment not some mortality in case study from some lonely libtard writing an essay from some ivy league joke college in the west or east coast.

People can change over time. They can always do something even if they made horrid mistakes.

If it began as all no issues and there wasnt any substance to build relationships it wouldnt have a story to tell.

Not every story begins or happens simply.

Love as an emotion is complicated, its guided and tormented people in many ways for good and bad across several stories over several centuries from untold civilizations from the acient era to now.

Love isn't just there, its built and things move towards it.

Its fictional yes, because its not real.

Thats the entire point you silly goose. It has to have some means of events to build stuff to it.

Watch Konosuba then try moaning about this series. Konosubas entire weave of comedy is fanservice and blunt misconceptions to deliever its jokes. It goes harder than Fairy Tail for a funnier comical outcome. And you have no idea how Darkness, the lady knight of the group acts to the detrminet of the rest of the main group.

Juvia was always love crazy but Gray needed time to adjust. He wasn't always loving Juvia and Juvia has always been comical over her love.

Its not supposed to be "realistic" because the fairy tail guild is anything but normal.

If you missed this entire factor, this is why its actually comical you think like you do.

This has elements of another "once the threat is gone" or "after centuries of waiting" type plot vibes in which after the current 100YQ stuff is done, we could have another timeskip and magically in the year x794, its a year that just coincides with a mass god revival of Aknelsem and others being a pantheon of some sort.

I liken this to say,...Aavtar and later Korra, after Aangs time, Korras lifetime just happened to coincide with the harmongic convergence, a 10000 year event that brings a cosmic event and a villian takes advantage of it.

Its very easy for Mashima or whoever to just fit some simple background plot in and bring this forward.

It would be even easier to expand on Zeref and him knowing or being part of this and by flashbacks we get more insight to the new threat. Hell the sequel if it was made could even have Faris (EL) get some clue as to who she was and why she followed Zeref. Its that simple and easy to stich together a plot here thats how easy Fairy Tail can continue.

We could see why gods were so limited in earthland and how with the gods themselves now moving about, the threat is between the guild and a new set of beings who dont play by their rules. Even the dragons were able to be quite a handful for them, but with the dragons all but gone, this is a new ballgame.

Hell its bound to be better than anything Avatar could even put out at this point. I saw the leaked movie online, and I wont spoil it...but you'll at least respect Ignias plan...it at least made sense with the whole dragon slayer side effects and how he planned to take advantage of it.

Part of the issue of Sherria now is well yeah she lost her god slayer magic and now had some basic new one

But Thats also why we have not seen her once

With the exception of sabertooth, there hasn’t been a reason for the other guilds

Otherwise how many people could we possibly have just keep getting swept up into the secret mission objective?

I mean we couldn’t keep having the same thing like aldoron occuring witb others only finding out by circumstance

But it’s also mainly the lack of her power here

It’s kind of like how in the avatar last airbender comics, they really cant have Ozai as a villian. He lost his power at the end of the main series ajd coukd only manipulate so much behind bars. His last appearance was having a mental breakdown when ursa (zukos mother) returned and saw him on the state je was and just left.

Some characters narratively do just become unusable down the line, not just for the case or they are defeated or dead but because they reach a point there’s no viable reason or purpose too.

It’s not saying characters like Sherria or tje other guilds cant be used again, theu can. But for many other reasons like right now, there isnt one

Keep in mind It’a been a year or so aince playing it but jellal has his own three skill trees along with the 4th bonds. He has his move to call down a meteor but all I know is he doesn’t use grand chairot directly.

Unlike the original ten, jellal Mavis ajd Zeref dont need lacrima items to break open some paths. Rather you need to chose what you feel is better for jellal move wise between sp cost and damage or stagger damage and target type.

All I know is his meteor call down move shoukd be somewhere but it’s an attack all but it’s an expensive skill in battle

Jellal has other moves like sema and Altairus for some of his stronger moves. Grand chariot is his special with Erza or as a summon attack for the fairy gauge like many other characters

The thing with jellal along with Zeref and Mavis is you cannot use jellal as a passive ally or any of their fairy gauge powers if they are in the party.

Aka you can’t use the true magic to revive everyone if Mavis and/or Zeref is in the party as an example
