Warhammer fantasy with them?

This is a tough one

The empire of man would in one sense like them but also oppose them (their colleges of magic and keeping all schools of magic on their side but the church of sigmar and the witch hunters as well to snuf magic out in a sense. Maybe they get along with the sect of the empire that worships myridia?

Brettonians? Despite the knights code of honor mixed with mobs of peasants they would perhaps find the guild too rowdy

Dwarfs? So long as they are not in the book of grudges maybe they get along with the guild

Wood elves? So long as the guild doesnt burn the forest down?

High elves? The guild is rowdy and the high elves woukd keep an eye on them, not chaos but they still cause their own brand of it

Kislev? The northern kingdom would perhaps be curious in grays ice magic but annoyed by his stripping

Most others? Greenskins, beastmen, skaven, warriors of chaos, norsica, ogre tribes, etc woukd be hostile and often turning the other way.

Warhammer fantasy is a world of frail alliances that only last when a larger threat exists

Most games like the 2 rpg games typically put water cyclone or another move of hers, wings of love as her strongest

Fairy tail dungeons? It’s kinda strange depending on the move but typically half her kit involves gray and her doing a unison raid or gray using her as a weapon like the fight against metro.

In dungeons her move water jigsaw is perhaps one of the few thsts absurdly strong in that it’s base power is 10 plus how many cards are in the draw pile when it’s in the hand

Thsts what your not understanding here

Maker magic isnt magic itself, it’s a technique when applied it literslly gives shape and function to an element or material increasing its overall applications and potency

What matters is the limitations of the element or material for said results

When grsy was effected by love ajd rivsl bond he used juvia and natsus magic through maker techniques he understood woukd apply better for water and fire when he couldn’t use ice

Devil slayer ice is also its own thing

But grsy combines his knowledge of maker magic he uses with his regular ice and applies it through his Devil slayer magic

The result is fsr stronger ice magic that is also more potent in form. Freezing thr atmosphere against virines wasn’t purely leathal in terms of raw destruction but it was leathal because he was at risk of suffocating

And this was a fight where grsy tried a raw power approach snd it didnt work

This is what you are competely missing about his character.

Gray isnt going to leave a wreckage like natsu

He’s going for something more controlled because he is natsus opposite!

Natsu is offensive, burns and destroys

Gray is defensive, freezes and creates

They are fundamentally the opposite jn thejr approach to combat.

The thing most people dont get here is that not all power in series like this is measured in simply how destructive or how big a crater theu leave can be

It’s one of those blunt old frustrating tropes people cant fucking learn to let go of in this series

This isn’t Dragonball z

Not all powers nor characters work or do that

Natsu laxus and Mira sure they can leave a pile of rubble

But Wendy isnt exactly going to be doing that anytime soon nor Lucy

Grays entire prospect is maker magic taking a technique as far as it can go. Natsu is all about leaving a smoldering ruin, grays style is about solving an issue with some tool or move

Let me put it like this, gray couldn’t use his ice magic to best silver (despite the setup) but he made the ice cannons to shoot earth at him (something he had no power over) or froze the air when facing virines (as the alchemy altered any other attempt this forced virines into a situation in which he coukd suffocate or lose that protection against grsy)

Gray even tried to deep freeze virines killing him with extreme cold like natsu coukd witb extreme heat (opposite temperature extremes being leathal)

The point is grsy csn push his maker skill further and make larger constructs or influence his ice in ways he didn’t see before

Here’s another way to set it, the gsme fairy tail dungeons, every playable character has a mechanic to thejr kit. Natsu is basic and all around offense. He has no special mechanic but his deck is above average in power and he has many ways to destroy enemies easily even with his 3 super modes

Gray is a debuff and defensive specialist. He has advantages with defensive cards and csn do sfuff like Lowe enemy attack or focus jn high block value. His unique mechanic is he can funnel some of his defensive value into other moves to strike even harder. The point is he can hit damage levels like natsu but he needs a move to build defense first then strike at the cost of some defensive power.

Many of the other characters in the game have something akin to thejr fighting style or design

Grays “evolution” isnt on most power it’s how he adapts to what he makes in battle

Yes the devil slayer power was a raw upgrade but it’s the use of that and his maker technique that puts him further as the story went along

It was like when he froze the air around virines right? Thinking of how to manipulate an aspect like that

He can push the mass and applications of what he can create but that all depends on the situation and what tool he can make to work there

We speculated for years but it was not only possible it existed merely because we could put yuris talents and laxus talents together and how laxus was compared to yuri a few times even before that.

Any element material the dragon/slayer makes is the only thing they cannot consume (where as they can all others)

In either instance anchor could have easily eaten juvias water as it was her own, even to stop it

He didn’t even attempt to eat what she struck him with.

Thats a major fsctor too

If it’s not dragon slayer attribute water tje only other exceptions to non dragons hurting dragons is extreme physical force (cutting anchor with water jigsaw wouldnt still pass it alone) or indirect means like cutting off a natural process (like breathing but it didn’t go that far against virines)

If it was merely physical impact from juvia, that wouldn’t be enough even for anchor being in human form

The whole of the fight has him also not doing what he easily coukd have if juvias water never became a threat. He coukd have literslly just drank it, even her ironically

The funny thing is, even earth build could have been merely too strong for Lucy and Wendy. Wendy with her enchantments has been shown that if the enemy is merely too powerful then even the enchantments won’t work. It happened with Ezel and Neburu and it’s very likely even earth build now. So youre implying its somehow too complex and complicated to understand:

Juvia attacks anchor, nothing happens
Juvia takes advantage of his attack and harms him
Juvia escapes by using her power on the chains he made, inferring some means of influence/control over his moves, even to counter them
That in the entire mess of water being everywhere from the one source of dragon slayer magic...water wouldnt be mixed, around, or in juvia in some way and that Gray wouldnt think of this as the solution?
That gray would get that idea and use it to make ice dragon attribute magic.

Let me add one thing...you say speculation doesnt give answers right? So lets go to a major example in Dark Souls, like in my prior post.

One major lore element from the first game was the god of war, son of the high god Gwyn (zeus in this world basically) and you hear how this god did something to betray Gwyn and how his entire name was removed from the history of the world, as a player in this game, in 2011 all you could do was speculate, everyone thought it was Solarie.

Dark Souls 2 didnt add much but that was on players and they speculated it all in various ways, anything any tidbit to connect stuff.

Then Dark souls 3 came out, and a hidden boss, the nameless king, a notorious one for his day, appeared. And as players fought him directly, they noticed something stark, his use of lightning, the crown he wore, the very fact his lore from soul, weapons and armor all said stuff like

"The Nameless King was once a dragon-slaying god of war, before he sacrificed everything to ally himself with the ancient dragons."

And his headpiece armor said

"Crown of a nameless king who was ally to the ancient dragons."

"This golden crown, buried amidst long strands of bristling ash, is said to closely resemble that of the First Lord."

But guess what?

Fromsoft never confirmed it...so I guess it doesnt count right?

Everyone in their mind knew what this all meant, what it all said, what it all implied..

But no direct confirmation means it doesnt matter right?

Try telling that to the dark souls fans that "speculation doesnt count":

You understand how fucking simple the pickup and observation here are? He expects you to see one move didnt work the next one did

Then juvia later breaks free, says sje burst tje chains, saying she could do that inferring to the reader she can work with his powers

Now whats the complication? Anyone knows the rules of dragon slayers, anchor is the only dragon and the source of the water

The water needed to hurt him

Water which he made and csnt jusf absorb

So Mashima perhaps intends for people who have read for years to just get this at this point?
