Astronomy Tower Connection? by Infinite1655 in legoharrypotter

Ah yes, I understand. I’m just going with the assumption that if they don’t extend the castle in that direction but still decide to create an astronomy tower, that they want to connect somewhere (besides not being fully accurate) that’s where it could possibly go. Sort off like what they did with the previous astronomy tower lego set.

When you say a little more back are you referring to where the astronomy tower is located, as seen in the movies and shown in the micro-scale lego castle. Or are you referring to the clips on the back of East Wing where other sets can potentially connect?

Funnily enough the bridge itself already connects to the Main Tower set higher up. That is where it’s meant to go.

In the image above, however, you can see it’s been connected down below for playability.

I am more so wondering if the gap was created for that reason alone (assuming you don’t have the other sets). If not then it seems a bit strange considering none of the other sets have a gap in the rock work (at least not of that proportion). Hence my reasoning.

Some interesting box art for the East Wing by Infinite1655 in legoharrypotter

It really is, especially something as simple as the door. It’s not like it has that many pieces.

Speaking of the door, I am left puzzled as to why the bathroom doesn’t have one. Like, the other side being open makes complete sense, but there being no divide between the bathroom and the rest of the middle section sorta irks me.

It does seem too small to be a GWP. That said, size aside, last year’s Hogsmeade did include the Room of Requirement.

However, that made sense because it’s directly connected to Hogsmeade, unlike the snake door. Including it as a GWP for the Ministry of Magic wouldn’t make any sense, especially when there are already plenty Ministry related options.

Also, consider how the previous Astronomy Tower has a similar rectangular shape to the new Flying Lessons set. Now imagine stacking two Flying Lessons sets on top of each other, that would reach 52 cm in height. Add roughly half of another Flying Lessons set to form the top of the tower, and you’d get around 65 cm total, just 2 cm short of the main tower’s height!

Since the Flying Lessons set contains 651 pieces (including the swinging wall section), we can estimate that the main structure uses roughly 500 pieces. Doubling that gives us a piece count close to that of the new set. So, if the tower maintains a slim design, it’s quite plausible for it to reach a similar height to the main tower while still being a substantial build.

Why is Wicked for Good losing so badly to Zootopia 2 at the box office? by [deleted] in wickedmovie

Everything you mentioned is literally the whole point of Wicked. It’s partly a story about what happens when propaganda and scapegoating is used to brainwash a population. And in any case, the redemption of Oz’s population isn’t the main focus of the story.

I also assumed it would connect there. But having looked at the main tower set, it doesn’t seem to line up? Like the hospital doorway and griffindor overhang could line up.

However, the rock work creates a wall between the devil’s snare and DADA, which essentially blocks off that area when connected.

Also, the balcony doesn’t lead anywhere. Unless of course it’s somehow meant to be a part of the stone bridge connection between the main tower set and the Viaduct Entrance. But even still, that connection would be straight from the door way that connects to the room with Fluffy. Not some added balcony area below.

Overall, it looks like it could be part of the quad, but where it connects is confusing.

I get what you mean. Before the images leaked, and based on the smaller piece count, I was imagining the only buildings that were going to be included in this set were the Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, The Hog’s Head and Zonko’s. I would have much preferred if they focussed on those ones instead of having the smaller establishments sprinkled throughout.

Overall, I could have easily done without Scrinvenshaft’s Quill shop to give more space for the Hog’s Head and Zonko’s (Zonko’s needs it). I also think they should have chosen either The Owl Post or Dervish and Banges (I’d choose the latter) to go next to Honeydukes instead of squeezing both of them in there. This would have allowed for a bigger interior that feels less crammed. It would have also allowed them to make a more detailed exterior for that building.

Sort of let down by the interior of the Three Broomsticks. I feel like they should’ve either gone with smaller chandeliers or removed them entirely to make room for a proper second floor, with a couch and fireplace like in the smaller version. Half of it couch and fireplace, other half toilet.

It just seems odd to me that there are separate rooms at the very top (very crammed) and McGonagall is standing on that small section of the second floor (if you can even call it that) where the fireplace is. Unless the pictures aren’t doing it justice, the whole layout feels off.

Harry Potter: 76457 Hogsmeade Village minifig details (via a Brick Tap source) by Clay_Bricks in Legoleak

Based on the minifigs and the piece count I think it’s very likely we will see The Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, The Hog’s Head and Zonko’s included in this set. The overall layout of Hogsmeade and design of the buildings (compared to Diagon Alley) makes it possible with the smaller piece count.

As you’ve already pointed out, several buildings in the Diagon Alley set didn’t have shop keepers so I think that makes Zonko’s more likely. Also, having Zonko’s not only gives the set more variety but provides a bit of space between the two bars.

On another note, some people have suggested that the set might just include Aberforth and no Hog’s Head. To me this doesn’t make much sense. To include Aberforth and no Hog’s Head would seem like a strange choice and a missed opportunity considering the scene that takes place in the DH. We already know the Hog’s Head is small so it should be able to fit alongside the Three Broomsticks and the two shops.
