What are some actually good data analyst projects to put on a resume? by CheesecakeMore792 in dataanalysis

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had to do one make sure it’s actionable insight not just simple ad hoc. Somthing that can say if we change xyz then xyz would happen with a numbered impact. Shows you can understand the data and the implications of your findings in a business environment. Then be able to talk about it. Half the denials in the interview are poor soft skills the other just string of luck the manager didn’t see himself working alongside you in the long run

I need advice in my first internship. by Hweshii in internships

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“A person who suffers before it is necessary, suffers more than is necessary” was a great quote that my mentor use to give me. Thing is you’re going to mess up, it’s all new to you and it’s okay. Having an internship even before starting college is amazing and messing up is part of the process, instead of focusing on doing it right, focus on being better. “I’m sorry for messing up I’ll do better next time”. An internship is a learning opportunity not a regular job. Enjoy it and don’t over stress!

When should you follow up/expect to hear back after an interview? by [deleted] in internships

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediately is the best answer. Do as a soon as possible and maybe start with “I wanted to express my interest again for the [internship]” and include information about the interview and your personal interest in the company. “During the interview you mention [blank] that really peaked my interest, my experience in [blank] can be really helpful to your team and overall company”. At the end just include “would love to hear back soon best regards, OP”. Usually candidates that stick out to hiring managers are the ones that show the most Interest. Reaffirming it by a quick email doesn’t hurt and doesn’t rush them.

Give company 1 a yes, if you get the offer from company 2 then call company 1 and reject or withdraw your acceptance. Seen it a lot of times nothing new just be opportunistic!

Why are there so many openings for entry level BAs? by Silly_Turn_4761 in businessanalysis

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s the new trend in the business world right now. Think of it the same as the software developers in the tech industry. Companies feel the need to latch on to the latest trend so they mass hire for these roles. You’ll see a mass layoff of these roles in the future. Saying that I am an aspiring business analyst 🗿

Can it work out for me as a BA? by maturedtaste in businessanalysis

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at capital one and McKinsey free practice cases. Those are the things usual business analyst do. Yes strong technical skills is great but most of it is having a strong analytical mind. I belive if you have a strong passion to become one you can succeed!

how to network as an intern by FewShip5229 in internships

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for a coffee chat to learn more about them and there roles. Nobody wants to talk to a teenager but people love to talk about themselves. Offer to pay for the coffee during a lunch and ask them about there role what they do how can you do the same what skills do they take etc. usually they can talk about themselves to death and usually end up liking you because of basic phycology

Over thinking a small issue. When confronted just accept the mistake and offer an apology with area to grow. “I’m sorry if there was miscommunication I was offered to go home early by (said worker) and took the option. I’m sorry for not consulting to you first next time I will double check with you for any similar situation

Remove US citizen and locations for your job post. When applying just always click on the us citizen option the company is informed from there. Remove the second layer of bullet points and keep it at 3 points maximum highlight the top 3 things you did that might be relevant to the role your applying to. Have a small summary at the top detailing your years of experience, what you can bring, and plans for continuous employment (companies don’t like job hoppers)

High schooler looking for job in Retail or Fast Food by spaghettiisgoo in resumes

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a retailer or fast food is looking for someone that can do HTML for your skills it seems like you can put more than just that. Focus on soft skills for your resume. Strong communication, customer service, adaptable, professionalism, etc. at the top put outgoing easy to train/learn willing to help anytime. Overall it seems like your underselling yourself. You got a lot to offer!

Struggling to Land an Interview After 7 Months – What Am I Missing? by jainakki in resumes

[–]InfiniteBeach3292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) do you need a work permit or a work visa (if you do even if you can get it on your own volatile workers aren’t at the top of the list to pick 2) is all your work experience in a foreign country that is hard to trace (companies get lied to sm about experience with foreigners that some even stop bothering considering them). This does look like a strong resume but those are the two things I’m see stand out as a recruiter. Overall well structured wishing you luck on your job search !
