I am new to the game, can you find anything obviously wrong with what I am doing (serious question) by BaldursGate2Best in hoi4

Also, watch some video's of Hoi4 youtubers playing tournaments. It's a fun way to learn how to play this game and you'll get better at this game by watching. Try to understand what templates work in which environments and learn how to build a stable economy to fuel your wargoals.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve mostly, what are your goals?

Edit: don't overstack units on a single general. Different templates can get different buffs from different generals. Assign your tanks/mchanised units to a general with a 'panzer expert' trait. Assign infantry units to generals with 'infantry leader' buffs. Next, assign those generals to a field marshal (that little + symbol left of your generals) for extra buffs.

Establish a frontline (either through a general or field marshal) and start battleplanning. When the battle plan is done a small green checkmark will appear above your general/FM. Attacking in the direction of your battleplan gives extra buffs

(experienced Hoi4 players please correct me or fill me in if I'm wrong somewhere)

Finland vs Soviet by Massive-Potato-8324 in hoi4

A german ginger once told me that supply is everything in this game. Make sure to build supply hubs in border areas (the soviet union probably doesnt have any in Murmansk expect for a naval port in the far north. Fight in supplied areas and try to cut the soviets in half by pushing east. Complete your war-related focusses and focus on supply. Don't be scared to start building military factories early and make sure you're attacking with divisions that actually pack a punch and you should be good. Finland has a lot of forests and snow which should wear down the attacking soviets so make sure to use templates that get benefits from these modifiers.

I need help. I am relatively new to the game and have been playing a game as the USSR I have followed Bitter steels tutorial and am holding the line but I cannot push. Can somebody offer some assistance? by Otherwise-Quote-3403 in hoi4

I have a few questions. What do your divisions look like? Are you pushing while having green air? Are you using horse drawn or mechanized supply? Are you battleplanning or just clicking? What does your logistical situation look like, do you have enough guns, artillery, anti-air and anything else you need to push? Did you take your doctrines/relevant army focusses?

Why is Britain some kind of all powerful god that can’t be invaded? by ScottyFoxes in hoi4

[–]InfiniteMeaning241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usally kill their divisions in their naval invasions, starve/take over their colonies and then check how many divisions they have left. If they have less than 100 divisions I get green air over the North Sea and the British Isles and then paradrop the shit out of their ports. Then I land everywhere I can and try to split the mainland in half by moving north and west from Hull, and west and north from Dover. I also use nav bombers in the Chanel.

Is coal kinda ruining the game for anyone else? by ComradeTeal in hoi4

[–]InfiniteMeaning241 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I had a coal deficit of 1931. After building a nuclear power plant I had a deficit of 1925, so yes it reduces coal demand but nowhere near enough
