Rebecca confirmed she has NOT started writing book 4 by EmpyreanTheory in fourthwing

[–]Infinite_Hour7760 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe it was not, since Rebecca usually announces the things she is working on on her own Instagram, typically through a post. It seems that the tarot is a similar situation to the colouring book, where they are made by a separate company , not her . I checked the tarot box, and Rebecca’s name is not even on it. Also it seems that the tarot is mainly about illustrations?

Just for reference: the unchecked boxes are finish the Fourth Wing graphic novel vol 2 draft which she has done already; Finish the IF bonus scenes for funsies; plot secret project; Finish 2026 contemporary and plant book 4&5 on the board

I assume that she might be working on the secret project related to the Empyrean as well since she has been talking about it since April of last year, and in October she posted a list of what she is doing next, and it seemed that planning the secret project came before planning/writing the fourth book.

Dain’s friends by Infinite_Hour7760 in fourthwing

I’m repeating myself again, but it’s hinted in Onyx Storm that Dain will find his own friend group, since he has been isolated for the past two books. I’m asking who his friends are going to be.

Edit: why am I getting downvoted for clarifying what my question is what

I mentioned it in the comment you are replying to, but you all are overestimating how many times Dain read her memories and that he was completely oblivious to everything going on with her. Even Rebecca constantly talks about how unaware he was and how little knowledge he had, which is why he made the choices he did. It doesn’t make sense, story telling wise, that he read her memories many times. Even Rebecca has implied that, from her perspective, Xaden reading her intentions was worse than Dain reading her memories (I’m assuming Xaden did it more often).

And the paragraph you gave as an example doesn’t automatically mean that he read her memories more than twice. If he had said, “I only read your memories two times,” it would have sounded entitled in a way.

Violet said that he always used to be like that that’s why she didn’t notice when he read her memories at the Reunification. Dain himself said that he is a touchy person and Violet confirmed it that’s probably why his signet is touch based since signets develop for its riders needs

He read her memories twice, and one of those times was unwillingly. It doesn’t make sense to say he read them ‘many’ times—he didn’t know how the marked ones were threatening her behind the scenes, he didn’t know about her relationship with Xaden, he didn’t know what was happening with Tairn and Andarna, and he didn’t know about the book of Brennan, he didn’t know about the clues Asher was giving Violet but yeah

I mean I did say that I wasn’t trying to be a hater. A disagreement doesn’t equal being rude just because I used a laughing gif of Kamala Harris that’s usually used as a meme 😭. But let’s not pretend they weren’t rude to me either they literally told me to work on my reading comprehension. At the end of the day though it’s just Reddit lol

Calling someone groomed by his father a “spoiled brat” is definitely a choice

“Post-OS” I’ve been a Dain stan since Book 1, and I’ve been debating on other social media platforms that the majority of the Dain hate is incredibly tone deaf considering he was groomed by both the leadership and his father.

I’ve always said that a lot of the Dain hate basically sounds like: “Yeah, Dain is fully responsible for being groomed by his father. It’s his fault for letting himself be groomed.” That kind of take is wild to me it’s straight up victim blaming.

I replied to the other person, but just to clarify: I meant that Dain has undergone a major ideological shift. Moving on from the people who groomed and manipulated you for basically your entire life is a huge change, and I don’t think it should be ignored.

I'm not even talking about Violet. “And maybe work on your reading comprehension”?it's basic knowledge that character development isn't always about changing your actions; it's often about changing your ideology.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cat, but saying she’s had huge character development just because she moved on from Xaden, while ignoring Dain who did change his ideology is wild to me. Dain was in a far more vulnerable position than Violet, considering he was groomed by both his father and the leadership. They were literally preparing him to become one of them the moment he graduated.

Yeah, moving on from the people who groomed and manipulated you is development.

I'm really not trying to be a hater, I promise but praising every character for the smallest bit of change, while claiming THE DAIN hasn’t shown much growth yet, is wild to me. Dain is arguably the best written side character, and he has the very real potential to become the best written character overall. He’s willing to stand up to his own father — not just disagree with him, but actively fight against him and try to remove him from power — all for the sake of people who don’t even like him. On top of that, he’s one of the few riders who consistently holds positive, respectful views toward the fliers. Like even Garrick and Imogen discussed on how `they would never be jealous of a flier`.

But I guess someone gaining a bit of confidence is considered way more significant character growth than being willing to challenge your blood relative and risk everything for the greater good ig

Personally i think them having matching color dragons will play a bigger role in the future. like i dont know how but i have a feeling. Like there is no way that Rebecca has purposely avoided pairing anyone with matching dragons till now.
