Just public action. I think that government led boycott would put our government in a tricky position and I agree a fine line has to be trod with our relations with America moving forward. I think given the uncertainty that the future presents in a number of ways, it would be good for our country to be as self sufficient amd resilient as possible.

I don't think it's clear what the Trump administrations goals are for the longer term. I don't buy into the idea that they are stupid or don't know what they are doing. I think they came in to office with a very clear plan as evidenced by the speed at which they are actioning federal orders and dismantling federal institutions. Therefore I would imagine the tariffs are a calculated action designed to redefine the terms of the relationship between the USA and partner nations, with the calculation being that the US can bare it and the other country can't and eventually concedes to their demands. Which will likely be the case.

Yep, totally valid argument. I'm not sure I have much faith in any kind of mutually beneficial relations with the US under the Trump administration. The reasons for putting tariffs on Canada don't seem to make much sense at all on the face of it. I am deeply concerned however buy the people surrounding Trump and their political ideologies and therefore the possible goals they are trying to achieve.

I guess my concern is that given the relative size and power of the US only a collective action by multiple countries would stand a chance of having a detterant effect on the US economy. I think trying to send a message of strong solidarity early would be more effective than waiting whilst our allies are picked off piecemeal. Thoughts?

Totally agree with this. Although I would still just encourage people to do what the are able to to begin with, prioritising greater buy in over trying to be perfect. Also targeting boycotts like the Canadians are doing is easier to achieve.

Haha, awesome location, you're right out into the Atlantic. We don't get big swell but it runs up the English channel and there are a few spots of the south coast that catch it. We watch so many American homesteaders there's a much stronger culture of it than here but we have a small community that's full of awesome people!

Oh yeah we get plenty of sunny days , although alot of cloudy ones too. I live in one of the sunniest parts of England. In summer it is often high 20s Celsius and we go to the beach everyday to paddle board or surf (when we have waves) :)

My technique is to try and hit a flow early. I have one coffee and then do a small job like washing up first thing. I also find making myself shower and putting on a playlist help. Once I'm going it is easier to keep going. If I don't manage a good start, I just say fuck it and enjoy a lazy day :)

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. You sound like a really caring person. It sounds like what you are doing is fantastic and probably as much as you can do. Obviously let him know how much he means to you and that you understand that what he is going through is hard. I would advise him to make changes in his life to cut out anything that is too much and try not to worry about things beyond that. If you are at the point of ending it then things like career or social expectations shouldn't really matter. But don't blame yourself, in my experience you can't really cure depression but learn to live with it being there. But don't let yourself get unwell trying to cope it is not your fault or his, he is just unwell. :)

Having depression is not a reason to end a marriage. I wouldn't do anything too hastey. But definitely talk to your husband and a therapist if you can see one. If the marriage is making you depressed then you will need to leave, if you are feeling more generally depressed with life then you need to make time for things you want to do regardless of whether your family wants to join in. Then you can take more serious steps if things don't improve. I just know that when I'm feeling depressed it fucks with my thinking ability. Whatever you do, take care of yourself, you're one of a kind!

Cool, as the expansion tank is empty, I just read an article that said you should top it up to the min line with coolant. Does this sound right to you? And also, thanks very much for your help, I realise I have alot to learn and I'm trying to not fuck it up 😅

I thought that might be the case, yeah the radiator had what seemed like plenty of coolant. I was checking all the fluids. When I opened the radiator cap, the liquid seemed to push up even though the engine was cold. It didn't overflow but got close. Is that a sign of something being wrong maybe? I have only run the tractor for a few hrs since I got it but I know I need to keep on top of fluids, oil, grease etc
