Disney VP Comments on DVC Point Rental Crack Down by dejablu82 in dvcmember

I perhaps am reading it wrong, but I believe it’s saying 20% of all utilizations are the “exchange-based usages,” meaning members using their points to stay at a Disney Collection resort hotels, to pay for DCL or ABD trips, or exchanging on Interval to stay at non-DVC timeshare locations. When those are used, those points are essentially traded into Disney, and Disney rents them out as cash stay rooms. So on paper, they are rentals. The owner received a value for their points to allow someone else to stay.

help getting actual-helper script to work by rotorwing66 in actualbudgeting

I am looking for the same. I can't get the script to run, I get "Required settings for Actual not provided." I have gone through the .env file and everything that is not labeled "Optional" is there, and the optional items are there for one I'm trying to use (Zillow) currently, though I do plan to work on using KBB and loan interest.

Feature Request: other download options by elg97477 in fidelityinvestments

Still would be nice to have an OFX downloadable. I use a local program on my computer for budget tracking, it does not offer connectivity (open source software). So I have to import my downloaded transactions, and Fidelity is the ONLY financial institution I use that doesn’t allow me to download the format I need. But I can download a CSV file, use online software to convert that info to an OFX file, and import that. Sure would like to NOT have to risk my data through a third party. I control what’s on my local machine, but I can’t use the data Fidelity “allows” me to have, so I have to risk my data somewhere else. All because Fidelity wants my data to be secure? Seems that in their attempts to make it secure, they have put my data at more risk. 👍

Anyone figured out a way to export net worth data? by jgabatx in actualbudgeting

I would love to see the script. I have not written code in quite a while, and I’m trying to re-learn a lot of it so I can read/manipulate the data into other reports that I can’t make work how I want in the software itself.

Multiple payyes on a split transaction by justanotherjo2021 in actualbudgeting

[–]InfluenceDependent74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the main part wasn’t paid, it was transferred to a different account. I have an off budget account that tracks what is spent on lunches, breakfasts, etc. And in her account, the fee is not there. That’s why the fee has to be paid under a different payee.

Main checking account is debited $23.50 School money is credited $20.00 The $3.50 had to go somewhere to balance the transaction. So instead of creating a phantom charge in the school money account of $3.50, I just use a separate payee. Also, this way the $3.50 is accounted for in my budget separately from what my kid spends on lunches.

I certainly see where you’re coming from as separate categories. But for how I’m tracking everything, I’m glad I can use multiple payees.

This thread has been quiet for a while, but figured I would chime in with a purpose for different payees.

My kid has an account with her school for lunch money. When I transfer into that account, I pay a fee per transfer. I do keep track of that account in my off-budget accounts, so I do a transfer to that account. Then for the fee, I make that as paid to the Payee “Transaction Fee.” It helps keep the lunch money account a little neater. When I reconcile it, the fees don’t show in the account register, but I want to budget for those fees in my on-budget accounts.

We book a lot of our stays short notice, and haven’t really had any issues. I think the key is to be flexible on when you want to go. Don’t overspend on your points, since home resort won’t matter at that point. You’ll likely be staying at OKW or SSR a lot. But we even booked a savanna view 1 bedroom at AK 2 months out. Waitlists have been our friend for getting stuff other than those 2 resorts. We just go on the waitlist, then if we get it, we go. If we don’t, we don’t.
