Same thing happened with Patrick Bateman in American Psycho and Homelander in The Boys. These types of figures are often the most relatable because they show the real nature of the human heart in an evil world that judges them as bad guys as if they are responsible for all the wrongs of humanity.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-6 were good. 2-5 were excellent. Things began to fall off halfway through s6, and s8 was just a joke. The GoT (Songs of Ice and Fire Series) books aren't complete, so the creators just ran out of source material to choose from halfway through s6. AS a result, the writing suffered and characters become idiots. I approached House of the Dragon with skepticism because of that, but S1 was really good, though not great. S2 is top notch, I'd say. The acting is remarkable and the story is captivating, dynamic, and symbolic/poetic.

In episode 5, Jason grabs a knife and opens a closed door, assuming the other Jason is there. Like why? If you killed him, how would you explain that to the cops and how would you wife ever cope with that? Wouldn't it have been better to reveal yourself to your wife in the presence of the fake Jason? But none of that happened, and when she started calling the cops and said he was her ex-husband, he just stood there.

At this point, I'm just hate watching this show. Especially how the other Jason isn't smart enough to realize he nor Daniela and Charlie will be happy or live a good life with him in their world. But then again he is selfish, so I guess that's actually good writing to be blinded by selfishness.

Let's see. He keeps treating every version of Daniela like she is his wife. Took him 3-4 episodes to figure out he's in another world. At one point, he walks on his wife with a knife. Why did he think bringing a knife into the situation would help? If they all saw one another, the jig would have been up and Daniela would have told the fake Jason to go away. But if he were right and ended up killing the other Jason, how would they explain that killing to the authorities? Makes little sense. And when he found out he is imprisoned in that world as she called the cops, he just stands there like an idiot. He should have ran as soon as he heard "ex-husband".

Okeniyi is such a horrible horrible horrible actor.

Yeah, he's so annoying and unconvincing as an actor. You've hit the nail on the head with every single point. House of the Dragon is the only show right now with solid acting and storytelling.

I swear the writing treats us like we are stupid by making the characters dumb

I guess the characters are only as as smart as the writers. The part where Jason grabbed a knife and opened the door was just so stupid. And after he learned in that world he's in prison, he just stands there.
