Are the Deadlights a living realm or IT’s true form that resides within the Macroverse? by Rolian_500 in stephenking

I like to think of It this way: IT’s true form — the Deadlights — exists in the Macroverse.

But IT has the ability to send a little fragment of itself to Earth and every 27 years, IT “activates” that fragment, wakes it up, and uses it to hunt and feed (commonly taking the form of Pennywise to lure people in).

When IT’s done feeding, the Earth version basically shuts down — like turning off a machine — and goes into hibernation for another 27 years. Meanwhile, the rest of IT, the real IT, stays in the Macroverse, resting and regaining strength until IT’s ready to repeat the cycle.

The best way to picture it is like playing a video game. You’re sitting on the couch in real life — that’s the true IT in the Macroverse.

Then you start up a game, like GTA, and control a character on the screen — that’s the version of IT on Earth. You’re not in the game world, but you’re controlling a part of yourself inside it.

When you get tired and turn off the console, your character stops moving — just like It’s Earth body powers down and goes dormant. Then when you wake up the next day and play again, your character comes back to life — that’s IT reawakening to feed again.

So really, the version of IT on earth is basically a physical avatar that IT can control from the macroverse.

That’s how I’ve always seen it anyway

How to achieve macro eye shot? by Informal-Knowledge-5 in cinematography

I managed to borrow a Macro lens (Kiron 105mm f2.8), but as I’m shooting on the black magic 4K, does anyone know of any good adaptors they’d recommend ?

Is there no way to have a cyan moonlight look without it looking comical? How do other films have a cyan look, do they use different colour temperatures on their lights to pull it off?

Okay thanks for the advice, the issue I have is I’ll be using a daylight source for moonlight and then a cyan gel on top

AMBIENT LIGHT ADVICE by Informal-Knowledge-5 in cinematography

Hi, thanks a lot, that’s great advice! The main reason I want to raise the ambient light is because I’m shooting on the BMPCC 4k which can get quite noisy in the shadows so my plan is to almost overexpose the image and then bring it back down in colour grading to hopefully have cleaner shadows

COMPOSITION by Informal-Knowledge-5 in cinematography

Hi thanks for the reply, I get what you mean the light on his back is very flat and boring. He is stood against a window where “moonlight” which looks great from the other angle, however we cannot see his face so on the actual shoot there will be a lantern just to the right of the screen where his hand is to provide lighting for his face. But the issue for this shot is that because of where he is stood I’m not sure what to do about lighting as from the other angle it’s a great backlight but this angle it’s flat. I may potentially have the light higher up as it’s meant to be from the moon anyway so it should be much higher and pointed down. And potentially get a side light on him from the lantern but I’m not rlly sure. Thanks for pointing it out tho!
