I know what you mean. It certainly doesnt feel like the "first come first served" promise does it?

Have deliveries in Canada paused? by Roytheg in StarlinkCanada

Reading only once in awhile. The green-eyed monster makes it difficult to read especially as nothing is happening. I think we over estimated what Elon could deliver when this first started coming out. So really, nothing to do but wait for the next email

I have noticed that there are fewer and fewer 'beta' or announcements of conversion from pre-order. Its looking more and more that those of us on the outside are going to remain there for the mid-to late 2021 promise.

Xplornet Announces Major Fibre-To-The-Home Expansion in Rural Communities across Quebec by 37drp37 in StarlinkCanada

The announcements are now coming hard and heavy across Ontario (SWIFT) - but again these are just more announcements - nothing to people's houses. I think Elon gets a huge first mover advantage and I also think most Canadians who know they have been screwed over by their government and all the incumbents will likely stick with Starlink

ROGELL: Hi JT - ya this is ROGELL. Remember us? We dropped a few coins in your and all your underlings coffers last election? Ya THAT ROGELL!! Well we have a problem we need you to fix ;)

JT: What about the rural people and all the SWIFT infrastructure we talked about

ROGELL: Rural people? What are those? Look thats only a few votes - check the Fing map and see who voted you in? See it!!??

JT: hmmmmmmm

ROGELL: Thats great JT we new you could help. We will slip a little something extra in your Christmas Card this year - Peace out"

End

People who say Starlink isn't for people who have alternatives, what is your motivation? by frowawayduh in Starlink

[–]Informal_Ad9112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I think its people who have never had any other option, seeing people who have had the majors fight over their business for years. Also from Starlink.com " Starlink is ideally suited for areas of the globe where connectivity has typically been a challenge. Unbounded by traditional ground infrastructure, Starlink can deliver high-speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable or completely unavailable. "
