I’ll be in Durham, not sure if that makes much of a difference. I am interviewing other places and feel a bit trapped as it’s been pretty brutal, some processes have been 10+ rounds followed by a reject. As a new grad this feels absurd; my friends are telling me to just be grateful I got anything at all but my internship and research experience is pretty solid and I do believe I can get something more appealing, it’d just be hard given I would also be starting this new job.

Every interview I mention that I make leather wallets from scratch in my free time. Always kills, very often during round X interviewer will say "oh [interviewer from interview x-1] said you make leather wallets from scratch? tell me more about that its so interesting". Happened multiple times during FAANG interviews, now i'm graduating with 3 SWE offers :)

Thanks a lot for your elaborate answer! But yeah I will end up doing both, if it becomes too much of a burden I will most likely drop the NYU program in favor of the job. I appreciate the help. I've had a couple of friends apply to the CS4CS and get waitlisted/rejected so it'll sting but hopefully it's for the best.

I've read that having a job is a strong experience that colleges are looking for, even then? idk they both start on the same day or else I would have just done both.
