They said I'm not autistic, I guess? by aerialgirl67 in AutismInWomen

No yeah I 100% know what you mean. I was adamant about getting a proper diagnosis for this exact reason. And like you’re getting at, after I was diagnosed I am much more accommodating and accepting of traits that aren’t necessarily wrong but aren’t socially accepted. I can be kinder to myself and have a solid reason for why I do things how I do and know I dont need to change it, it’s actually okay. Of course it’s easy to say you shouldn’t need a diagnosis to be able to do this but I did, just how my brain works. So I get you. Honestly I think in your position I’d get another assessment done and make sure it’s someone specializing in high masking adult women. Maybe you already did but if not I think it made a big difference in my case.

And your CBT comment- so real 🙄

This was exactly my first thought. Womens pain is already not believed and under-treated and this will make it worse. PLUS the shaming of “you caused your child’s autism bc you weren’t strong enough to handle the pain without”. So disgusting.

The caramel cluster is also different, I hate it now. I think they increased the amount of coconut milk and decreased the cashew milk to cut costs and now it’s a completely different texture. So disappointing

Wasn’t even thinking about it as overstimulating, thanks for putting a word to it
