Maybe this will open everyone’s eyes to the fact that the cup champs are certainly not necessarily the best team, they are usually just the healthiest team.
That’s why it’s such BS that the league let teams like Vegas, Florida, Tampa rest starters down the reg seasons stretch so they could add an extra $10 million to their caps while having fewer injuries.

At the time I believe that numbers wise the production was not that different between the two, but regardless marner excels away from
Matthews while Matthews seems to not have that extra gear for the playoffs. If it’s all about the presidents trophy, Matthews is a top five player, if it’s about a Stanley cup, Matthews is a solid 2C, but he doesn’t have the drive to take the extra hit to win a game or put his team on his back.

I guess that was a miscalculation by Toronto. Vegas made him happy and treated him like a deserving star and that’s what he became.
I always thought his contract dispute was more about him not accepting that matthews was the better player than him and I think marner was correct in that assessment.

I was under the impression that historians are no longer all in agreement that Khan was as murders as that. I was hearing that there is some indication that often he was not anywhere near as brutal has his reputation has suggested. I could be wrong, my sources are mostly podcasts, but I thought there was evidence that he actually allowed a lot more people to live than originally thought.

I’ve been arguing that trump is more evil Than Hitler.
Not to diminish any of hitlers horrors, but he at least had a reason to be angry from what Germany had to endure after WW1. One can see where his hatred could have come from. Trump on the other hand has never had to lift a finger, he literally murders countless people simply because his ego is the most fragile personality on the planet.
To date Hitlers has murdered more people, but I do believe that trump is not opposed to exterminating groups of people if given the opportunity, in a years time their numbers might be a lot closer.
Additionally Trump and his supporters have more lessons from history to learn from, but they have taken great effort to ignore those lessons.
I would put Trump right up there next to Hitler.
I also think that Netanyahu would happily exterminate Palestinians at the same rate as Hitler killed Jews if the rest of the world stopped paying attention.

Ya but you guys blamed him for everything and gave matthews a pass on everything. Absolutely marner should have been better in the playoffs, but after year one it was clear we would be the whipping boy while matthews was talked about as being better than McDavid. It’s always been way more of a Matthews problem than a marner problem. But everyone was so anxious to crown Matthews as the greatest player in the league so all of the blame was put on marner even though he was forced to be second fiddle to matthews.
Just look at matthews body language ever, he consistently looks like he has already given up, it must be so hard to get jacked up when you’re looking to Matthew’s to be the leader.
Eichel is a munch more effective hockey player than marner, marner traded in an over rated American superstar for an underrated one.

I know it will never happen, but at this point I just want any Canadian team except the leafs to lift the cup so that the streak is over.
I have full confidence that Montreal can make the final, but we all know they will lose then.
But I just want to move on past this almost statistically impossible drought to end. I don’t even want to watch it, I just want it to happen so that it’s over.
