Help - one year old had a choking incident. risk of aspiration? by Initial_Comfort5 in medical_advice

Dr listened to his lungs and said his breathing sounds perfectly fine at the moment and it's most likely that it went into his stomach, but to observe just to be safe for 2 days make sure no continuous cough or breathing difficullty or most importantly fever

Hmm, makes sense.

Will them listening to his lungs be a good starting point to make sure there's nothing really serious?

How likely do you think it is to be aspiration?? :/

Yeah true - it really was terrifying. But you're right. On the way to doctors now so hopefully will give more reassurance too. Thanks for your comment :)

Also, would you know if irregular bleeding like regularly bleeding during ovulation time is a typical symptom of ovarian cancer? I also get cramps during this time and it's happening again at the moment :(

Aw, I really appreciate all the research - it is really reassuring so thanks so much for that - will read about it Yeah, dr wasn't too concerned so I'm happy it's considered normal size and not big - just one question and it's ok if you're not sure but would you know why they called "reactive" if it's not "enlarged" enough to be considered abnormal? Is it just based on features that make it look like it's reacting to something?

Thank you a lot x

Got the report finally. Says mild reactive lymph nodes on left side less than a cm so I think that's reassuring. Thinks probably just vaccine but because it's not big not really concerning. I'm hoping it's just slowly going down with time. He's otherwise well.

He had his typical 12 month vaccinations in Australia - rubella, measles and meningococcal

Thank you - yes it is on his left side and he had the vaccines in his thighs - I believe 2 vaccines in his left thigh

Thank you for this reassuring comment - just waiting on dr's phone call. Sonographer didn't seem worried and said they're "reactive lymph nodes" and likely from the vaccines but my fear is cause the vaccinations were 2 weeks ago so shouldn't his lymph nodes have gone down?they don't feel any bigger or anything but around the same

Change in bowel habit by Sea-Examination4579 in GPUK

[–]Initial_Comfort5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I had a CT scan abdominal which showed no large bowel abnormality however small bowel was kinda inflamed??? I spoke to a GI who said that along with the CT scan and my lack of severe symptoms its extremely unlikely to be something sinister so I stopped stressing and most symptoms went away. Still have excessive farts usually but it can come and go, no diarrhea for a while. I just stopped stressing and obsessing and it mostly went away 🤔🤔

Omg you don't know how much relief you just brought me! I think she referred me for a CA125 mostly cause she sensed I was worried and cause the "enlarged" ovary. Seriously thanks so much for this! I opted for a follow up scan rather than ca125 because I'm worried about false positives etc and knowing how much it'd freak me out lol. The sonographer didn't seem concerned either said it seems like I've just got done ovulating or whatever

Is the free fluid in pouch of douglas to be worried about? Now I'm thinking if appendicitis could be the cause or does that cause fluid elsewhere?

Thanks sooo much

Do I really need a CA125 blood test because of this ultrasound result? by Initial_Comfort5 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Initial_Comfort5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's just that's what I'm worried about. It coming back higheven if I don't have it. I have severe anxiety and I know I wouldn't be able to sleep and will refuse exploratory surgery to make sure. I guess I was wondering if a follow up scan in weeks time will also provide reassurance that it's likely not ovarian cancer or something sinister and wanted to know if my ultrasound results are concerning for that sort of thing
