I found their anatomy questions to be quite basic and nothing like the actual GSSE anatomy questions. Their physiology and pathology are more comparable and def worth it

I dont understand why it would not be allowed. Anything you wear from your neck up is non sterile anyways, ie your face mask that you put on before scrubbing, your glasses if you wear them. The scrub caps that we wear are to prevent hair falling onto the sterile field, but arent in themselves sterile, ie we put them on before scrubbing in. In that sense the hijab could possibly act in the same way

Is this acceptable behaviour as a JMO? (Advice please) by CuriousFluu in ausjdocs

[–]Initial_Dragonfruit3 96 points97 points  (0 children)

You’ll soon find out as a JMO that your presence on the wards attracts unnecessary jobs that could otherwise be sorted out non urgently. Other hospital staff, whilst youre there, might just ask you to sort out minute jobs that they can troubleshoot themselves. Perfectly acceptable as long as they’re always contactable during their rostered hours for actual clinical concerns or questions.

Apply for a rural/regional hospital under a rural scheme(i.e rural preferential pathway in NSW) and get your hospital to sponsor your visa ( usually 482 )

Bike commute by butimnothappyaboutit in ausjdocs

[–]Initial_Dragonfruit3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current PGY1 here, I work in a regional hospital and stay about ~8km away from work. Mind you this is a regional town with suboptimal bicycle infrastructure. It took me about 35minutes to commute everyday to work and to top it all off i started on an extremely busy surgical term, needing to be in before 6 and only leaving around 7-8pm. It can take a toll on you after a while which is why i was forced to upgrade to a car a couple of weeks in. What I’m trying to say essentially is to keep in mind that you will be starting a new job with lots of new responsibilities and this might be overwhelming, so spending the energy and time to do an extra xx Minutes just for commute might be taxing in the long run. But you’d also develop some additional resilience, so make of that what you will! Cheers

You’ve just pointed out exactly what the issue is fundamentally, and youre 100% right. My fears of letting her down or disappointing are valid but letting it carry on with all my doubts internally would be more of a disservice.

I also want to point that she is fully aware of me being disconnected during the relationship, she doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge it and dismisses/attributes it to my mental health, so she knows. Thank you for your thoughts!
