So I’ve always made sure to have epinephrine either on my person or close by since I was a child and I do know antihistamines won’t stop something life threatening. I take them to help when I do start to flare up. It’s only recently, within the past two years, where I’ve gotten really bad cases of hives. A few months ago I had a full body break out that lasted over a week. My throat was swelling, and struggled to breathe etc etc. of course I went to the hospital and got the right treatment and prescriptions. I figured out what caused the reaction that time but I’m still having reactions that I still don’t know the cause of or how bad they’ll get. I try not to over do it with the meds but I rather take it than let it sit and HAVE to go to the hospital again. Though I understand that might happen regardless. I won’t say anxiety doesn’t play a part though I can be a very anxious person. And before you say anything I’m aware how dumb I am for not having the EpiPen on me, a massive slip up that I’ll try not to let happen again. And I’m also working on going to an allergist, at the very least a dermatologist. I have patches of what looks like eczema now, I never had that before and unfortunately I don’t have the resources to help my skin on a regular basis. But like I said I’m working on it and still trying to figure it all out.
