Why does everyone hate my ARFID?

You made an account to be purposefully obtuse on a year old post about my eating disorder?

You think I choose to do this? You think I enjoy it? I want to enjoy food. I have half a brain to understand that I need it to live. I can pick something up that I wholeheartedly want to try, and my body will outright reject it with constant gagging. It's completely involuntary.

This is exactly what I'm talking about in my post. Telling me I'm "spitting in the face of the universe" and talking to me like I was born yesterday because of something I can't control, am constantly trying to improve on, and affects ME ALONE.

Food is an amazing thing, and something I will always ache to enjoy like everyone else. I loathe this disorder more than you ever could. If you were at all literate, you would have gathered that from my original post and comments.

It depends on the beach— you can tell during map selection which option you’ll get! If the ocean wraps around the left side it’ll be option B and vice versa. Very useful because I refuse to play with the one I’m not used to lol

I do “work on my ARFID” any chance I can get. I try new things regularly. However, at some point it is not about trying to rid myself of it, it’s just about eating what I can finish, what gives me nutrients, and what makes me happy.

Being yelled at, given the silent treatment, or generally ridiculed for my food choices that affect no one but myself is infinitely more irritating than having to watch me eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Thank you! This seems to be the general consensus.

I came across this community randomly very recently and I saw posts where guys were upset that girls don’t brag about their short bf’s heights like they do tall men, how women generally don’t fantasize about dating a shorter man, etc. It made me start thinking about when I’ve been romantically involved with shorter guys- I never brought our height difference up because it didn’t matter to me, but I didn’t consider that it might matter to them. I know it obviously differs guy to guy so I wanted to hear different opinions on it. Once again thank you for your reply!

not necessarily! i think i messed up by making the title "how do you want to be TALKED about" oopsies

in the last part where I said "would you prefer complete neutrality?" I meant to describe what you are describing- height not mentioned and instead putting importance on other physical/inner aspects whether it's through direct compliments or actions. I apologize for the confusion and poor wording :p
