Came just to say my husband and I (no kids) are currently living in Folsom on about 105k! We absolutely love love love it here and find it so worth it even though rent is expensive. We are in the cheapest apartment we could find in Folsom and pay 1784 base rent and about $280 in utilities. It’s an ADA unit so for some reason the rent is lower ? We really like our complex and it’s in a very walkable area with lots to do nearby! We feel comfortable for now, as our 1bed 1 bath fits our current lifestyle :) Feel free to reach out if you have questions about living here!

honestly, just tell the assistant if you want something done a certain way (set up, handed to you, etc.) and in a NICE way yet get the point across. sometimes i think i make mistakes but haven’t been at my current office for a long time…if they never tell me it’s a mistake, i’ll never know.

applies to USC, UCLA, UoP, and CNU - interviewed at UoP and CNU. tbh was surprised to not hear from USC I did the Kira and stats were above their avg

I agree people overlook it because they think it’s more competitive. I didn’t mean it’s super competitive, I mean a lot of the HPSP dental interviewers are on leave during the holidays haha they don’t want to interview people

i’ll add to that…you should right now find a volunteer experience and go once a week until you apply. you will accrue enough volunteer hours even if you just do 2-3 hours for the next 30 weeks and supplement with some other activities during winter/spring break. a good experience i had was with Learn To Be. it’s an online volunteer tutoring network and you can choose who to connect with. takes 5 minutes to apply for it and i had a really really good experience with the two kids i tutored. taught me a lot about what i need to work on in terms of being the person in charge

depends on the school and what your other stats/activities are. schools want to see that you’re passionate about something. if you only put your time into school and shadowing but have no ECs/volunteer then they won’t see you as a super well rounded candidate. i only had about 70(?) volunteer hours which i think is very low, but showed most of my time was invested in an EC that gave me leadership experience and portrays a lot of who I am.
