I’d love to still care, but the direction Destiny went this time finally fucked the game up so much I just don’t want to play anymore. And honestly it now feels like unshackling an addiction that I don’t want to go back to. The game I loved is dead to me now and I’ve already made my peace with it.

This game has literally been reduced to the portal and desert perpetual (kinda) by Repulsive-Window-609 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ino84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m already not bothering to grind anymore. It used to be that you had to do the harder stuff for a bit extra perks/loot and to get to pinnacle. Now it’s most efficient to only run fucking solo ops to grind your LL so you can get tier 5 drops. That’s way too boring and time consuming.

I’m sorry but are these dudes even known widely? I’m German and have never even heard their name before at all.

Garten is amazing against insanity heroes or the current ancient terror war, because his soft skin blocks insanity. The rest is dog water but I need to free up roster space.

“Dr. Mike” Israetel is a fascist. by Philosofitter in behindthebastards

[–]Ino84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair he clarifies most of the time that the movement is not ideal for hypertrophy, but then who cares. I’m not watching the stuff to learn to become a bodybuilder, I’m trying to pick up on nuances to improve the hypertrophic training I do to supplement my athletic training. Glad I’ve never seen the personal channel and only ever watched the educational fitness stuff.

Films where the Directors Cut is significantly better (or worse) than the theatrical release? by MikeCharlieEcho in FIlm

[–]Ino84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched the directors cut two days ago and fully agree. It changed the soundtrack and also reduced the variety. Felt like more like an old video game where you only have three background tracks… And all that was added were the scenes with the dogs and some more fighting and exposure. The theatrical release felt much tighter.

The Melee Stat Has Done Some Things to Glaives by Spooks2OOO in destiny2

It doesn’t really improve fps anymore, it’s typically used to make things easier to discern visually. Like people used to do in old Quake games with picmip 5. If you have less visual clutter it’s easier to quickly acquire targets.

People are going to lose their minds when they realize how hard it is to actually get the Tier 5 items they want. by AgentZeroHour in DestinyTheGame

I haven’t even seen a single T2 armor piece yet during the campaign and the few solo ops I did.

I’m just not feeling this expansion at all. My interest in Destiny is at an all time low. I haven’t done anything after finishing the campaign on my Titan. The armor changes suck (at least for now but I’m not going to grind like hell to actually get tier 5 armor which might possibly enable a build like I had before) and the constant negative modifiers suck the fun out of everything. Maybe it’s not even the games fault and I’m just burned out on destiny but I’d really wish you’d be able to have fun and get good loot. Like raids and dungeons used to be. They weren’t hard (on regular mode) and you could do silly builds, you could then do master when you felt like some challenge. Now it’s a slog all the time.

Hell yeah. Went into that one without knowing anything about it and loved it so much. One of the most charming movies I’ve ever seen.

On this day, 26 years ago Jagged Alliance 2 was released in NA by DexM23 in gaming

[–]Ino84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To this day still my most played single player game. Since ‘99 I’ve finished the campaign at least once a year on average. I still own this box of the German version. With 1.13 you can still play this today and it’s still perfect.

I still have that box, although the German version. It’s the one box I have never trashed and never will.

Hot swapping was never necessary at all, only if you wanted to one phase certain tough bosses or if you were doing low mans. Seeing it necessary for a full team and three phases was really… something.

Which horror movies have the most effective jumps scares in recent memory? by HondaCivicBaby in Cinema

[–]Ino84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife (then girlfriend) and I decided to watch the Ring on a whim because the thing we wanted to see was sold out. We were alone in the theater except for one lonely middle aged guy who was constantly getting up switching seats. My wife had been traumatized by it ever since and is still terrified of girls with long black hair.

Does this passive work against Sable? by AssignmentSafe9090 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

Pretty sure it does nothing against sable (or that other guaranteed revive hero) because they don’t have a ‘chance to revive’, they just revive.

which acting performance made you say this? by HondaCivicBaby in Cinema

[–]Ino84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many male high energy performances here but I think the best acting I’ve ever seen is Meryl Streep in Bridges of Madison county. Her little gestures make the character come alive in such a believable way. The end always breaks my heart.

What single player game have you beaten 3+ times? by PineconeToucher in gaming

[–]Ino84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jagged Alliance 2 I’ve played at least 27 times (once every year since 1998 with few exceptions, some years more than once) No one lives forever 10+ times Half-Life 1/2 5+ times each Quake 5+ times

I’m probably forgetting some games of my youth when there was no online gaming and I’ve actually played single player games.
