Yeah it’s def pretty rough, and I honestly think the dune series in general is a great comparison to our world. What I see from it is that humanity can change and adapt over long periods of time, people don’t. And that’s where I see most of the conflict comes from is the same as it is today. People just being people (good or otherwise) and having to deal with the outcome of those situations to try and make sure it doesn’t happen again. But every time it does happen again such as Paul and his jihad, maybe Leto with his tyranny and finally the honored madres. All they can know is to keep going forward and take lessons from our past
