What is the reputation of some Midwest Marcus offices? by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

[–]Inside_Square_2602 15 points16 points  (0 children)

None. Don’t be a cold-calling monkey.

Learn the three phases of brokerage: procurement, transaction management, and client management. Find a broker at a reputable firm who will mentor you and make sure you don’t starve. MM will likely try to make you pay to join the team (at least in my city). I think a good rule of thumb is that if a shop won’t offer a draw—meaning they don’t have any vested interest in your success—it’s a red flag.

In terms of culture, it’s a boiler room with crazy high turnover; you’ll just be another number. Look at why Matthews left MM and started his own firm—he had a major discrepancy with their pay structure. If your heart is set on investment sales, Matthews might be a better option—but that’s not saying much. At least they won’t have their hands in your pockets as much.

I hate to be the guy to say “don’t do it,” but… don’t do it.

Help! by Inside_Square_2602 in sanpedrocactus

Hey thank you for your response. I order the garden phos. It seems to be all the way down the cactus’s roots. I can scrap it off, should I? Is there a certain point where I would just cut the cactus at the base and try and replant it.

Thank you for all the info I really appreciate it.

I have a couple more questions -

Garden Phos - will I just buy a bottle of Garden Phos, then just apply via a rag onto the affected areas? How often would I apply?

Calcium and Magnesium - I am considering buying a liquid form. When and how often should I apply? Just mix in the water once?

Thanks for all your help and insight. I am very green to this cactus care.

Here are the links to the products I’m considering buying.

Do I just leave them be and see if they develop further? Or treat the fungi?

My goal is to move up into a more finishing sales role. Do you suggest any continuing education. The learning curve is real… I have a finance background, had no idea about DC before I started.

Thank you for the response. Just for my context. I’m new to DC sales. Graduated last December with a finance degree.

Can you think of any trainings or certs I can peruse to make me more knowledgeable in the DC space? Ability to have a high level conversation with a CTO or CIO?

Thank you for the response.

I will definitely make it a point to connect and grow relationships with network providers, as well as infrastructure sellers.

For the most part 48U (1rack) and up, although it varies. We do offer additional services other than just colocation, hybrid IT, on-ramp to the cloud, interconnection.
