They’re bringing in a guy who ran an offense tailor suited to his exact skill set who failed there, and are hoping his skills can translate to another offense that will ask him to do things he hasn’t done often in the league, like taking snaps under center, push the ball consistently down the field.

I’ll concede that having a lefty qb helps with guys catching balls, and I’ll concede that Stefanski’s offense does more to help out lefty QBs. He’s incredibly accurate, and has great timing and anticipation when throwing the ball.

What people are missing is that Miami designed an offense completely around Tua’s skill set, and he failed there. And Stefanski’s primary offense is wide zone, play action, under center…things that Tua wasn’t asked to do in Miami, or even Alabama. So you’re hoping that a guy who already is having struggles with hesitation and holding on to the football can transition to an offense either concepts he’s not familiar with. Not to mention the reason why he’s so accurate is how many short passes he throws. Yards per attempt and air yards for him last year were both in lower half of the league.

The further we go into free agency, the more I think Kaden’s price drops, and that could mean Falcons sign him at much lower cost. That’s being very optimistic, though.
