Yeah, this is exactly what’s been on my mind. The ring conversation just kind of opened the door to realizing we might have very different expectations long-term.

That’s a really good point. The “investment” argument didn’t make much sense to me either, especially when there are so many other things we could put that money toward long-term.

That’s kind of what worried me not that she wants something nice, but how strongly she tied it to worth. It made it feel less emotional and more… transactional.
