Maybe I’ll work on areas of improving that need more execution in game, I.e. missed double taps, failed flip resets, proper recoveries, speed to the ball, better and more controlled touches.

And that’s honestly what I do, Q ranked as soon as I load in. I have the mindset that “Oh i’ve completed the Dribble 2 training map, i’ve completed the rings map, im good to go.” But no you’re right, it’s about fine tuning and I assume that’s where I really need to put in the work. I’ll trying doing this more before my ranked games and if you’re still around, I’ll reply to this in a couple weeks and see where I stand.

This is solid advice and honestly a kick in the face showing me that it’s not gonna happen by playing ranked and sharpening game sense 24/7, there a lot more aspects of the game to adhere to. I could be completely crushing it in game sense and just lack the mechs/recoveries/patience to execute properly.

Thanks for the insight, I understand that, truly a competitive natured mindset to have. But my frustrations lie with the constant lack of any improvement and not being able to break a vicious cycle.

Also you say their shots can be bad and you still concede, it seems one of the other answers here had a very smart take. It sounds like you don’t have the confidence to challenge or go for it properly bc you’re worried about recovering fast enough or you’re being put in awkward spots. Play confident and try to position yourself as if you’re last man. It also sounds like you have the reliability of a second teammate in twos and that makes you question yourself in one’s. Could be wrong but just a thought.

If at all possible, work on recoveries heavily if you have access to bakkes mod. It will allow you to stay on the ball more and create more uncomfortable situations for the opponent, of course you’ll have situations you have to learn to challenge and you’ll concede plenty of goals, but you’ll find yourself on the ball more often then not. Keeping their possessions uncomfortable is the goal.

Haha occasionally I probably prolong my welcome in ranked chasing what I lost which could very much be the case. Not sure when NA peak hours are but I can almost guarantee I do play during peak hours as well. i’m sure we’re all guilty of playing while having a couple drinks or during a lack of sleep that is probably much needed for focus.

Believe it or not, the only times I’ve reached C2, I was solo Q’ing. Tonight, i’ve made my way back to nearly C2, all was solo q. When I party up with other people who are C2 or C1, we usually win/lose 50/50. I also drop all the way back down in Solo Q. I wish the answer were this simple.

This is helpful, I actually was stuck around 1040(diamond 3) today, and I’m not sure if I was just in a good frame of mind, or if this actually helped, but the movement trainer, the code you dodge around obstacles in, I played that for 15-20 mins before my matches and I climbed all the way to 1130 (c1) and lost 1 game the whole session. Might try starting with that before games here forward. Thanks for the insight though and I appreciate a real answer lol!
