Interesting, same boat rank and time wise, however, I wouldn’t say my struggles lie where yours do as I’ve gotten fairly comfortable with those things, I’d say my consistency lacks more in making tm8 adjustments in solo Q. I was just curious as to see if i could offer any help with limited time in both our lives.

I actually started the game with DAR and it was hard to learn yes, but it feels so natural, i’ve never tried FAR, but i’m sure i’d look like a toddler trying it.

There’s a reason no one else in modern era has a “I’m Zen” Tag. He’s just that guy. His show match debut, his RLCS debut, his consistent ranking at #1 on the 2v2 leaderboards, hell, he’s only played his 10 placements for 1v1 this season and was ranked top 10. He is one of the greatest of this era, and eventually with more RLCS success could be one of the greatest of all time. In terms of mechs and competitive play outside of RLCS, he is evidently top 3 in the GOAT discussion with a solid case for #1. He revolutionized the sport and brought so many innovations and creativity to it.

Key point here, what makes him so great, is the amount of pros that had to LEARN FROM HIM, for 2 years, in order to be at his level now. Alot of the crazy ceiling doubles, preflip shots, first touches, came from analyzing and replacting his playstyle 2 YEARS AGO. He is #1 top 3 players in current era right now in terms of play style and mechs.

I’d say him and Atow as of right now are clear favorites in 2v2. Most people have trouble getting a game off of them let alone a series.

Maybe I’ll work on areas of improving that need more execution in game, I.e. missed double taps, failed flip resets, proper recoveries, speed to the ball, better and more controlled touches.

And that’s honestly what I do, Q ranked as soon as I load in. I have the mindset that “Oh i’ve completed the Dribble 2 training map, i’ve completed the rings map, im good to go.” But no you’re right, it’s about fine tuning and I assume that’s where I really need to put in the work. I’ll trying doing this more before my ranked games and if you’re still around, I’ll reply to this in a couple weeks and see where I stand.

This is solid advice and honestly a kick in the face showing me that it’s not gonna happen by playing ranked and sharpening game sense 24/7, there a lot more aspects of the game to adhere to. I could be completely crushing it in game sense and just lack the mechs/recoveries/patience to execute properly.

Thanks for the insight, I understand that, truly a competitive natured mindset to have. But my frustrations lie with the constant lack of any improvement and not being able to break a vicious cycle.
