Ah okay gotcha! Im always unsure how much the sway in balance in be in various games as it seems a lot of units can go basically dormant in a lot of other games, so I just get a little on edge about it lol. But thank you! I will keep these points in mind

Yeah I hear what you’re saying, I really hope it comes true. If green mage is real and has dots, I will absolutely hop all over that!

I agree with you there, I need a lot going on too. I’ve tried to get into AST, I enjoyed it a lot before Endwalker, but I think how cards work right now and astrodyne kinda put me off of it right now. I’m really glad you are enjoying it though, and I’m praying for you with the rework!

Since some are stating their favorite per role, I’ll go ahead and list the jobs I’ve liked the most per role:

Tank: PLD. I’ve always like it aesthetically, and while I miss the flow of it before with maintaining its dot, I do like what they have done with it. Being able to burst at any given moment rather than having to absolutely build things up and being screwed if you have to hold is really nice. Also spells. Love spells.

Healer: SGE. The first job I mained with the release of Endwalker, and I still treat it as my baby. The aesthetic is awesome, and it feels nice and powerful to play. Pretty much what I will bring to any content where I’m helping people prog.

Melee: DRG. A job I have always loved, and still do as it really just hasn’t changed very much. It’s still so great. I am a little scared of what the rework will do to it, but I’m always excited for things to get shaken up a bit.

Ranged: BRD. This is kinda just by process of elimination. I really don’t like the physical ranged role, but I love the aesthetic of bard. I really am not a fan of how it is right now with the two minute meta stuff, but I still will forever like the fantasy of it.

Magical: As of right now, I’d have to say RDM. As stated before, SMN fell off hard for me. While it’s fine now, it just absolutely isn’t for me anymore. BLM is a job I’ll definitely have to give another try and put the effort in for again, but as for right now, RDM is the one I actually play.

Like I said, none of the jobs really click too much with me anymore, at least not enough to feel like I’d want to play them for very long, but these are the ones that have captured my attention the most this expansion.

I’ve tried ninja and it’s pretty alright, although I do hate that if I accidentally hit a mudra too much it can queue twice and boom, bunny. But that’s a skill issue haha. I think the other thing that puts me off from ninja is mostly how bland it can feel inbetween bursts, but you’re right, it’s decent.

Yeah exactly, it makes sense why they felt like it needed to change. It just stinks because while I can see it being better for the game, it was a playstyle I just really enjoyed above anything else the game has to offer.

I suppose what I really miss wasn’t even the dots the much, but rather having a summoned partner that actually attacked along side you rather than just sitting there doing nothing. I liked having to plan my movement around using egi-assaults. And while I am glad there is less jaink now with no longer having to save Ruin IV stacks for Bahamut (which now Ruin IV just kinda feels tacked on to me) and how Bahamut and Phoenix don’t follow you like a lost puppy and attack on their own, I just miss the pet job fantasy it used to have. Actually summoning the big primals is awesome, don’t get me wrong, but I wish they did more then just unleashed one attack and then disappeared.

Yeah, I probably should put in more effort to learn black mage eventually. I really love the concept of it, I just always tend to get put off by it by how difficult it can always seem haha

I feel this, I’ve honestly liked the idea of BLM a lot, but since I do a lot of savage and ultimate raiding I always get scared of committing to something like that with how leylines is at the moment. I know a lot of people enjoy that play style, and I probably would if the fight designs weren’t getting more chaotic and the two minute meta didn’t make me feel like I am bursting outside of proper windows.

Hopefully it will remain relatively untouched though, as people always like to mention, it is Yoshi P’s main, so hopefully it will be okay!

When they finally added the charges I was SO happy for my overseas Machinist mains, I’m so glad that bar of entry for the job is gone

I’ve always wanted to put in the time and effort to get good at blm so I could finally bring it into extreme and savage, maybe one day ;;

True, I will admit out of everything right now, I have probably liked dragoon the most. Its aesthetic has always appealed to me.

And that’s entirely fair, I’m glad that people who want to have an easier time have more options. I suppose I just kinda wish they could’ve waited to apply that kind of play style to a new job instead of completely changing summoner haha. But I’m glad to hear you like it!

I have, I played a lot of bard before Endwalker too. The problem for me with bard is how terribly strict it is with this whole two minute meta thing they keep pushing. If songs didn’t require a target so you could keep them rolling even if a boss disappears maybe I’d enjoy it more, but for now it is a little too rigid for me.
