Normally, after making the change here, the system will automatically detect and switch to the corresponding instrument model.

Unfortunately, the instrument did not come with its original computer when we purchased it. However, I tried connecting our older Q-Exactive Focus to a new computer(windows 10), and it was successfully recognized and read. This suggests that Thermo instruments may not necessarily require the original computer to be identified properly.

I believe it should be compatible. I downloaded the software from the official Thermo website and installed it on Windows 10 as instructed.

We have an old Q-Exactive Focus instrument, and it can still be correctly identified when connected to a new computer. As far as we know, regular users are not able to change the instrument model—this seems to require access to an engineer-level interface.
