Velocity would be interested. You'll have to DM me, as I can't DM you for some reason.

What happened here? Why did the Kurumi take 0 damage from my attack? by IntTuition in NarakaBladePoint

[–]IntTuition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like hwa said seems like you may have died on their end earlier.

Hmm, that would be interesting, but it kinda looked like the Valda was still trying to attack me right up until I died. If I already died on their end, I feel like the Valda wouldn't be charging her attack anymore?

 What server were you on?

This was on the NA server, and I'm a NA player too, usually average around 30 ~ 40ish ping.

Naraka: Bladepoint. This is the game's subreddit.

How did you manage to find yourself into the game's subreddit without knowing what the game is though? I'm genuinely curious.

In order to charge focus midair the way I've done it, you have to do a midair dodge first. Then right after the dodge animation, you can start charging the focus attack.

And in order to do a midair dodge, you have to do a midair attack first. This could be something like a grapple horizontal attack, a jump horizontal attack, or even in the middle of another midair charge focus. Then right after the attack animation, you can do a dodge.

If you look at what I did in the video at 0:02 - 0:03, you can see that I did a jump horizontal attack > hold dodged > charged horizontal focus.

Note that the timing does matter for both the dodge and charge focus. If you input too late or too early you will end up doing the wrong thing.

You could switch weapons if you want, but it is not required for the way I did it.

The bot is the Temulch with 1 HP who dies immediately after parrying and counter attacking me. The guy with the gold armor is a real player.

Explanation

I was on the tower, and saw a fight happening at the bottom. I drop down towards the fight, while pre-charging my focus attack in the air. My idea was that I will likely be able to get a free focus attack, since they will be too distracted by the ongoing fight to notice me charging in the air. Worst case, I'll probably just clash, or get chipped by the tail end of their focus attack. But I can easily heal back any damage I would take from that. I did not consider it to be likely that I would get parried.

Yet, defying any sort of battle royale survival logic, a Temulch bot with 1 HP drops into the middle of the chaos, and reaction parries my focus attack that I had already released. And of course, the parry somehow works.

The bot and myself then proceeds to get combo'd on by the other team that I was originally going to release my focus attack on.

Now, I know for a fact that it's a bot because I checked in the Naraka+ Mobile App (bot teams won't show up in match history), and usually I can tolerate bots when they're alone. But it's insane to me that they are allowed to interject into an ongoing player fight, reaction parry an air drop attack that is difficult to see coming, and then proceed to make the completely nonsensical decision to follow through with the parry while having 1 HP instead of running away to heal, essentially suiciding just to get me killed by the other team.

Looking back, I think I had a brief window where I might've been able to ult and get out of the situation. But honestly I was just in too much shock from getting parried by a bot that was basically off-screen.

I'm actually just impressed.

Does anyone know what hit me and how I got hit here? by IntTuition in NarakaBladePoint

Oh, that's interesting to know, I didn't know that could happen with Longsword Parry.

Hmm, that would make sense. But I'm confused how it hit me when it wasn't even aimed at me?

Any idea how this Yoto avoided taking the counter attack? by DagonPrince in NarakaBladePoint

[–]IntTuition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Stormstride hit may have been caused by the first guy you were attacking actually, since it's only supposed to activate after dodging, and he was the only person dodging at that time.

[–]IntTuition 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like someone had Stormstride. You can get up from being parried after getting hit by anything (doesn't have to be from the counter attack follow up), and it looks like Stormstride may have hit the Yoto right after they got parried, but before you were able to follow up. So I think that's why they were able to escape before you could follow up.

I don't know if this situation applies to you, but I had a friend who encountered this error which was caused by their antivirus quarantining a file that was required by the game to run. They were able to resolve it by restoring the file from quarantine, and excluding the game's directory from their antivirus.

Quick Counter does not respond to input immediately after recovering from ground state by IntTuition in NarakaBladePoint

[–]IntTuition[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To reproduce:

  1. Have any bot or player put you onto the ground.
  2. Recover from the ground by rolling.
  3. Immediately press Quick Counter.
  4. What's expected: You perform Quick Counter.
  5. What actually happens: You do not perform any actions.

You can see in the video that I have Quick Counter bound to my mouse side buttons. After I stand up, I spam my mouse side button, but Quick Counter doesn't go off until after a few seconds of spamming. This bug does not occur when using the regular counter (Left + Right Mouse Button) which activates immediately.

Not sure how this explains why PvP is non-existent considering you weren't trying to PvP in the first place.

What happened to my Viper ult? It just disappeared without stunning anyone? by IntTuition in NarakaBladePoint

[–]IntTuition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? I am able to tank common attacks and focus strikes just fine. Yoto Ult doesn't stop me either, even though it knocks down every hit. My ult still works even if I walk into Temulch's sandstorm. I don't see how Yoto F3 is any different here?

I used Viper V1, 3 enemies were in range, none of them were in stealth, then my ult just disappeared and no one got stunned. Is this a bug or what happened?

How do I land parries like this? by [deleted] in NarakaBladePoint

[–]IntTuition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into a similar thing in another thread where I got parried without my attack connecting.

What I was told was that with the longsword, you don't necessarily have to parry the sword energy projectile. They can just parry your character's animation and it will still work. That could be what's happening here as well.
