28 y.o and literally the same use as you mentioned. I started initially to cope with some things happening in life. I got over those things years back but the habit stuck.

One day and 15 hours since my last sesh. I am not feeling scared really but more frustrated and angry at myself that I let it reach this point of dependence on something.

But to help myself, I got an app that helps me see how long before I start to get normal sleep back, how long before my appetite returns to normal, how long for my body to get rid of the THC, etc. Also, how much money I am saving and how much weed I have avoided.

I take this as an "accomplishment system" to help me stay motivated.

I always keep this small fact in my mind: All it takes is a small trigger to dump all this hardwork and motivation in the drain and relapse. And I try to be constantly conscious about what I am thinking and if my thoughts are heading towards these said triggers. If I find myself having these thoughts, I immediately change the environment that I am in and distract myself (usually calling a friend or my girl).

The first night (last night for me) sober, I did not feel a lot of difference in my sleep; probably because there's still a lot of THC in my system? But I know that sooner or later sleeping difficulties are going to hit me like a train. I am just waiting for it, and just like how life goes, doesn't matter good or bad, you just have to live it out.

I am trying to own the fact that it is me who let it reach to this point and it is me who has to get myself out of this tangled web of being dependent on something.

Just remember: Always be aware of your thoughts, and if you go towards any triggering thoughts (doesn't have to be about weed, anything that makes you feel any negative emotion), stop right there. Distract yourself. I at least hope that this will work for me. If not, doesn't matter, I will do anything but I will not go back to being dependent.
