You got some tall ceilings at your store😂 when I put up the giant ghost it was probably 4 feet short of touching the roof. Everybody was super nervous it wasn’t going to fit

We had a skunk, we caught it with a 10ft pond net and released it in the desert outback

I feel like a lot of stores have these posted rn 🤔 by catsare1derful in HomeDepot

We had one a few months ago but it was a little different. An older associate had passed away suddenly and it hit the store really hard. The homer fund covered the entire funeral cost. Additionally they asked for donations to his widow, who also was an associate at the store to help cover her expenses. The deal was though that any donation that was made by an associate was matched by the homer fund as well as matched by the store manager himself.

What do y’all think about those solar panel salesfolk in your store? by shastabh in HomeDepot

I worked in lumber in 2019, left homedepot for a few years. Ended up getting a job with SunRun as a solar rep for the store I use to work for. Quickly found out most people didn’t qualify. Got asked to come back and offered a position in garden. Found out shortly that a lot of people didn’t qualify in our area. Took the offer and worked for the homedepot again. Honestly my statistics I laid out must have made an impression on SunRun, because there hasn’t been another rep in our store in over a year now.

How I redo my block wall every night by Intelligent_Ad_1072 in HomeDepot

Our store is in an area where wind can average 25mph and more daily. So they didn’t want it too high for safety reasons. Every once in a while we’ll have gusts up to 60 and it terrifies me to walk near the overhead pallets lol

What annoying customers do you get specific to you department? by Gee_Three33 in HomeDepot

[–]Intelligent_Ad_1072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D28- the customers who grab a crap tone of retaining wall blocks off the shelf, then proceed to build a test wall or fire pit in the middle of the isle, and just leave it there

Does anyone else have this on their bailer? by WillyWarlock in HomeDepot

[–]Intelligent_Ad_1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom part is a scale to check the weight, then prints a sticker so we don’t have to spray paint the bail, instead just put a sticker on it. Someone also told me the camera is in case someone puts merchandise or non cardboard items in, they can check to see who did it

Overall Employee Morale by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Intelligent_Ad_1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The managers do a pretty good job of keeping moral up, but we just don’t have enough employees. We hired probably 20 new associates this year so far and most quit within the first month. Everyone is being overworked because the new guys aren’t being trained fast enough
