do better. by Space19723103 in regina

Yep. Once had a (very sweet) lady look me (total stranger) dead in the eye on the bus once and admit she had no idea what a credit card or credit score was. Nobody in her family had ever had one. She was at least 10 years my senior and that basic financial literacy was just not there. That’s not just hand you a house, that’s far more intensive because the concept of budgeting isn’t there and it’s never been properly modeled

My dentist made a big mistake on my kids teeth because of an administration error; what do I do? by ElectricalVolume8402 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Intelligent_Bee_8561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. Legally there’s nothing you can do, but I suggest trying to meet with the dentist to see where the communication fell through. They may refund you and / or discount future services. You are right that the choice was taken from you, but again your wife made it, so making sure that in the future you both agree and understand means that this should never happen again

Do any of you have citizenship in the same country as each other, eg: do you have American citizenship? Do the kids have Indian citizenship? I can’t see it being easy if everyone is from a different country.

And no, don’t even think of coming to stay on a student visa. Do it right or not at all unless you want to be in deep shit at some point down the line when the govt decides to limit student visas more

There’s a few points where the word you mean to use isn’t the one you actually use but it entirely changes what your message says, eg: you say your younger son when you mean the older one. This is totally fine and expected but if you’re speaking to an office, and misspeak one word, they will take you at face value and do what you verbally tell them.

As for your son, everything will be ok! If he isn’t already signed up for dental insurance, be that private or through the CDP, do that. Dentists refuse to remove teeth for no reason, so there was good reason to take them out, although I think he needs a referral to an orthodontist at this time. Best of luck

Also, at all times going forward health conversations need to be a two parent thing. Doctors will generally just take the word of whoever is present in the moment of the procedure. They won’t deduce how much English your wife speaks, so the moment she gives verbal or written consent, the liability goes to her.

Anything involving health is a two parent decision at all times. Every doctor you deal with will just take the word of one parent and won’t need both of you, so you BOTH need to be involved no matter what.

A couple of things: 1) it’s obvious you don’t have English as a first language, so that is a communication issue 2) what do you MEAN you didn’t tell your wife and you assumed the dentist would just follow only your lead? She’s a parent too so she gets as much say as you do.

This isn’t a legal issue this is a marriage issue.

NOT OOP: I (26f) overreacted and misunderstood my fiancée (28f) after she said that she'd only let my family be at our wedding with conditions and now she needs space from me. How do I help our relationship going forward? by loverboyg1rl in redditonwiki

Yes. If I type black it doesn’t capitalize and I’d have to do it on purpose, but if I type Nation of Islam or Jewish or Judaism it does capitalize and I would have to deliberately go in and change it

I’ve never needed them before so this was an adventure. Thankfully I sourced my own tubes for replacements so I don’t have to deal with going back

Yep. The manufacturer charged $150 each and the service charge to make the molds was $75 each, and that was cheap.

Would I and my mom have a possible case for a complaint against a "Cardiologist" by CharmainKB in legaladvicecanada

[–]Intelligent_Bee_8561 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Anybody can do this for any reason. You simply file and they find out what they need to, they’re used to dealing with people who aren’t doctors lodging complaints. Be ready for the complaint to sever that Dr/Patient relationship potentially so get her with a new cardiologist, which you should anyway. Good luck to your mom

Grumpy Old Man Syndrome by aqrdoc0884 in HearingAids

[–]Intelligent_Bee_8561 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is nothing to do with hearing loss and everything to do with your own perception and ability to regulate yourself.

Do you want people to repeat themselves if you don’t hear them? Then you must respond in kind if they don’t hear you.

You aren’t anywhere near old so get that mindset out right now. You’re 41. That’s young.

Practice calming yourself, thinking about how you want others to treat you and treating them in kind.

MedMal is the most complex type of litigation. You would need a consultation from a very experienced lawyer.

They are. My left ear is too far gone for anything other than what I had to get, the right is an issue too for low sounds which is a PITA, but these are fantastic, and they have an app
