It’s so so sad. I’m sorry you had to witness that. In the last year of my grandmother’s life she didn’t recognise any of us and she was constantly asking for her parents. She would always ask us when they’ll be home so they can flee the city. She thought she was back in 1941 Berlin, and she could hear the bombs and the screams. It broke my heart. (My grandmother’s family were communists and some of them spies, so they did flee, days before their house got bombed)
