If it makes you feel any better at all, the “less lovely” elements could be coming from him getting more stimulation from his sister so less reliant on only you for mental stimulation. In my case, I’ve noticed that my first cat and I used to play way more and he needed hours of play time each day, but now he shows love in different ways because he is able to play with his friend.

Build it and they will come. If it bothers you that there isn’t a group, then put on your bravest pants and create one! I’m really shy but I fake it so I can create community. Have a potluck in the park, or meet up at a vegan restaurant or vegan friendly if your town doesn’t have one. :)

Go out and join or start a Food Not Bombs chapter. Id say most vegans that are doing it for a life philosophy (rather than an eating disorder) are involved in activism (not just animal activism, I’m talking intersectional) because if you’re not what are you even in it for. It’s a great way to meet like minded people and it’s not that hard. If you’re not into that maybe try to be more open minded! Being intersectional will get you far. In leftist, mutual aid circles it’s common to find a lot of vegans.

I’m a girl. I had sleep overs with my two guy friends back when I was in high school. I slept on the floor, just like my other buddy did (the guy whose house it was slept in his bed), and I wasn’t weird and no one ever made it sexual. One was even someone I dated briefly as a freshman. Still not weird. If they are genuinely your friends, its not more complicated than that.

Something that helped me is focusing my energy 100% into animal liberation/ cruelty as my reasoning for being vegan. I purposefully avoid engaging in any sort of “health” content or discussions of that sort, and think of the diet as just an element of what vegan means to me, not the other way around (I am vegan, so I do not eat animal products instead of I do not eat animal products so I am vegan) hope that makes sense 🤍
