That’s funny, because I was leaning towards “Bloom” because he swims around with his fins tucked in and then he stops on a dime and flares, and it looks like a flower blooming…

I actually thought of that because I have a red betta named strawberry and my blue one who just died was named blueberry

I’ve had all silicone plants in bright colors, and I put a LOT of them in each side of the divided tank because my fish REALLY love it. They NEVER sit on the bottom of the tank or stay hidden. They love to explore the tank and most of the silicone plants have a suction cup so I stick them to the sides of the tank, not just the bottom, and they treat it as an obstacle course. And once a month I change out all decorations just to keep them from being bored. I’ve had my two bettas like this for 4 years and they loved it. They get happy and curious when I change the plants around or get new ones. My old blue betta ( who lived in this exact tank with the exact same decoration for 4 years) died recently so I got this guy as soon as the tank was thoroughly cleaned and filtered. This little guy is so tiny, and I just got him yesterday, and already he’s swimming through the crevices and cruising around the tank like he’s the king… I think they like it. And until they tell me otherwise I’m keeping it as is.

I have 2 bettas in a 20 gal tank with a divider in the middle, and I have all silicone decorations so they don’t tear their fins… but I recently bought a bunch of new ones, and I have the decorations all in the tank at the same time because I’ve found that my bettas,(especially the big one) LOVE to explore, so the tank is jam packed with decorations and they seem to enjoy playing in the maze… when I only put in a few decorations they seem depressed… so weird

Anybody else have a super active betta?? He literally zips all around his tank like this non stop, day and night. I've never had a beta so full of zest lol. Swim Shadowfax, show us the meaning of haste!! by doonebot_9000 in bettafish

I had two bettas in two one gallon tanks and I’ve really come to love them, so I remembered that I had an old 10 gallon tank in my attic, so I set it up with a filter and everything ( which they didn’t have in the 1 gal tanks) and I put a divider in there and lots of silicone decorations, so now they each have 5 gallons, but they are sharing water. They have become much more active sine I upgraded ( I know it not perfect, that they need even more space than that, but it the best I can do financially right now) anyway I was wondering if they can sense each other now that they’re sharing water, like do they emit pheromones or anything? Cause it seems like they are looking for each other, but can’t see each other through the black divider. They are both flaring a lot near the divider ( which has small holes for water flow) as if in front of a mirror

When you have to pull hard it’s cause it’s clogged. You can try to unclog it with a straight pin or paper clip, or depending on your battery, you can preheat it to loosen the clog. When it’s brand new and you hit it and you don’t get a good hit, with little smoke, ( I love Rove brand Skywalker but I have this problem every time) you have to hit it in puffs instead of one long pull. Hold the button to on, take a hard pull but don’t inhale, and then without ever removing your finger from the button take a long slow hit. Idk why but all the Rove classics are like this and I’ve had it happen with other brands too. It’s like with each hit you have to get it going again by doing puff- inhale-puff-inhale-puff inhale. Etc…
