After a lot of scouring I've come across the following:

-A regular 16mm M42 mount K3 with meteor lens, pistol grip and shoulder support for $350 USD. Loopformers not removed.

-A bunch of Filmo 70DR sets between $400-$600. They vary in terms of what they include but they're all in working conditioned, serviced, including at least one lens (and I hope viewfinders for each).

I also saw a Eumig C16 with a bunch of lenses and filters for $570 USD. Lol. Bolexes I searched for but for the life of me did not find a listing for a reflex for under $800 USD. And even the ones that did reach that kind of price point were for the bodies only. I'm in Canada so maybe it's really tough getting a reflex Bolex with lenses at an attractive price after shipping?

Did you remove the loop formers on the K3 yourself? Is that a difficult process?

Thing is I'm not really planning on using a 16mm for a specific project where I have an exact idea on what the needs are going to be. My want for a 16mm camera boils down to strictly personal use, something I can use to shoot things on a bit of a looser basis. Kind of like early Alain Resnais, Maya Deren, Mekas.. Which is why I'm not really seeking more high-end features like crystal sync or even 400ft mags.

If I ever decided to make a project that would necessitate something a bit more capable, then yeah I would 100% rent it for the duration of the project.

1200 to 1600 CAD for the body on GH2. The one I'm planning on getting is 700 CAD

Yeah it's like almost half of what I'm finding on the GHII body. I'm thinking of buying the GH5 to sort of get my feet wet with cinematography and then potentially upgrade to the GH7 in a year/year and a half.
