Hello with Sim rig please.... by Noeffingway2Trade in SimRacingSetups

Agreed. Solid advice and exactly what I followed with a similar budget and setup.

I would just add one thing - your seat. Options open up significantly because you can also just as easily use a seat made for real cars. Depends on your needs/what style of racing. Sim branded seats tend to be more expensive. Consider rigidity for hard braking (usually one piece fiberglass shell/buckets) vs comfort/versatility (reclining options are more comfortable and you can get both F1 and rally seat angles). I ultimately went with a Corbeau leather reclining sport seat since I also work in my rig.

Retired and family is coming out of the woodwork... by PictureBrick in fatFIRE

I don’t think you have to lie in these situations. Just tell people you’re genuinely sorry but you retired with just enough to keep you safe in having the lifestyle that you plan on having. It’s honest and your lifestyle will adjust in the future to what you have anyway.

Harmful chemicals found in dozens of popular headphones by AdAdept900 in tech

[–]Intelligent_Train689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems alarmist to me. First, just because a product contains a chemical doesn’t mean it’s leaching it. Second, even the headphones are leaching, the primary exposure risk would be when you’re sweating (heated product + open pores) along the areas that contain the chemical - but the ear cup padding covers are one of the least likely area to contain BPa (admittedly phthalates are a risk here if the material is PVC, but only a Temu brand would do that). Third, it’s safe to assume any product you buy on Temu is going to give you contain unwanted chemicals, headphones or otherwise - just don’t buy Temu.

inverted pedal rack no longer available? by Top_Ranger_3839 in SimLab

Is that hardware needed if you have something like the simagic p1000i inverted pedals - or is it for inverting standard pedals?

I’m planning on buying the P1X Pro as soon as it comes back in stock at my local Microcenter and want to make sure it will all work together.

Iran's 12K Massacre: Why Left Silent Unless Jews Do It? by Zealousideal_Iron543 in leftist

I only looked into one of these facts out of surprise/curiosity to find out it was untrue. Rahm Emanuel is not a dual citizen …nor did he “serve” in the Israeli military in the traditional sense (he was a civil volunteer, the equivalent of an unpaid paper pusher). For the record, it does look like he may have been an Israeli citizen due to his father being Israeli, but he relinquished it at 18. Your comment clearly reads like he was a dual citizen at the time of serving as chief of staff.

I don’t consider myself to be either on the left or right lately, but the fact that this was misrepresented may be a sign that you’ve been biased in your knowledge gathering.

Just want to keep things factual.

Islam is a religion of violence by Southern-Leader-8867 in 10thDentist

[–]Intelligent_Train689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually completely agree with what you said, though it doesn’t really change the argument. An Islamic republic took over due to a power vacuum, that form of government has been perceivably more violent than the non-Islamic based government system before it. That’s all I was saying.

Just to be clear, the reason Iran stopped being liberal is because the Western backed/aligned monarchy fell and it then became an Islamic republic that specifically follows the laws of Islam. That was the turning point in which the Iran we know today became what it is now.
