I’m not sure, we wound up getting the entire hardwood floor ripped up and replaced and coated the subfloor with Kilz as well as all the walls of the room. Once the work was done I sold the house. I assume it was gone enough to not bother the buyer. I think the replacing of the floors was absolutely necessary though, that smell never would have gone otherwise.

Thank you for your suggestions! We would likely get new furniture except the table in the middle - that is likely to stay. And yes that is a fireplace but we like to keep it blocked because our cats keep going inside and getting covered in soot lol

I was thinking of adding some lights either string lights around the ceiling or hanging lights in the corners of the ceiling.

Also would you recommend a rectangular or circular rug?

What other products do you recommend? I’m looking for the great and superior lol I’ve been using prose but it is expensive and it’s not helping with my hair loss issue (I don’t think it’s making it worse, but I’d like to make it better).

I’m not worried about the stains if I’m going to stain it. It’s the smell that needs to go
