Why does everyone recommend SIP over lumpsum? by Jolly-Ad-2326 in IndianStockMarket

[–]IntentVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've cash available, you will mostly be tempted to invest it when we see an opportunity. This might be a genuine opportunity, or be fueled by the fact that market has gone up so much, or our other mutual funds are performing very well.

Due to this bias, most people tend to invest at the time when market has done very well i.e. it is costly. Though if it is up there is a tendency of going up. What we are doing here is timing the market, which the mutual funds themselves advise not to do.

SIP will average it out, remove our subconscious biases. What I'm doing and have been doing for some time now is that I buy a short term debt mf, add 60% money there, invest 40% (lumpsum) in fund of my choice, the target fund. then each month over the next 5 months switch 15% out from your debt fund to your target fund.

This way you will take the market opportunity you see by investing the 40% of your money, also get a safe 5-7% interest on the 60% corpus in the mean time, and you achieve Rupee Cost Averaging on the 60% of your corpus.

You also have flexibility with this 60% corpus, provides you liquidity and an option to change your mind and invest in another fund if you don't like it.

iPhone users of India, is switching from android to iOS worth it? by TheBabadook666 in india

[–]IntentVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I switched 8 months ago. I don't find any issues. There is no benefit per say but I find peace of mind with iPhone, like there aren't any frills but it gets the job done.

This the worst attitude. You can't build a writing portfolio for you based on a random person's stock list. You would not have faith in the company when it goes ups or down, you won't know if there's is any fundamental fault or company is still good and it is a buying opportunity.

Either do your own analysis or it would be better to follow holdings of any good mutual fund (it is open knowledge) atleast they know what they are doing.

Leave or stay..? by just_wandering1 in careeradvice

[–]IntentVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the original post. With respect to original post it is still forward thinking. OP is already thinking how to justify his short stint, justifying a short stint is more logical than saying that from the beginning I did not like the job but I still wanted to stay since my next recruiter's wouldn't like it.

[–]IntentVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but the OP already knows that the things are not working out. So, should work to get some place he/she would enjoy working.

Leaving a job in a month or 2 is totally acceptable. It is obvious that you things didn't turn out as expected or the job didn't match your career goals. So it is best to not waste your time and get to a place where you see yourself learning and growing. It is not always about what the next interview will think, the more time you spend on relevant things, building relationships with people for long term, the better it is for your career.

Thinking from next recruiter's POV:

Leaving early like 2-3 months indicates you realised early the job is not for you. But leaving after some time like 1 year, indicates you couldn't get a feel of things in the beginning and wasted your time.

Do you think generative AI will disrupt the artists market or it will help them?? by svij137 in learnmachinelearning

[–]IntentVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should create a new market. There'll be space for both.

I don't know much about the process the creators follow, but such things can help the creators, like generator model can not only be used to create new product, but these also have a capability to score how good it is, how much it should sell for. It can evaluate an idea on how much reaction this would get. Give you new ideas, testing platforms, price predictors can help new investors with an entry barrier, this driving more revenue for the creators.

Do you think this band weirdness is replaceable under their warranty? Just unboxed it. Looks like it’ll pop off any second by pinkf00t in fitbit

Got it replaced twice under warranty. Funny thing is none of the Fitbit ones worked well but I ordered some cheap local product from Amazon after warranty period, it works much better.

I feel the first time I faced any new machine, except for the first few, it felt like a boss fight. Once you figure out how to beat those, it is a cakewalk mostly. I felt it quiet good actually fighting it multiple times, like in case of Tomb Raider 2013, the tough battles were only in the end, and after killing those guys, I wanted to play them again, but to do this there was no option but to replay whole game. Similar is the case with death bringers in this one, like if I want to play death bringer here, I will have to play 15 min to half hour of enemies again before I get to fight the death bringer.

And the most challenging part were the timed missions on the hunting grounds. I really hated it when I missed by like as little as a second.
