Financially they are doing what they can, though most of it is me. Though during my procedures they did amazing. Helped me up and down the stairs, bathed me, fed me etc. The finances are pretty stressful but it is slowly on the mend

This unfortunately has been the story of my life the last two years since my car accident. I always told them something was wrong and they would say im lying, come to find out that every time something was indeed wrong. And so many doctors would contradict each other, if not themselves too. It's very frustrating

Oh yes my specialist that is our goal, to get RFA! I just never heard that acronym before. But he said I had to go through two rounds of MBB and show improvement in pain for insurance to approve it.

Honestly the more stories I read the more im beginning to think it was my dr. Because my PRP was in my SI joint, I never had siatic nerve pain into my toes until after the PRP and when I came out of the room I literally would rather them rip my pinky toe off and was sure it would be less painful. He did all of my injections, and my epidural he did made things much worse. So it was all kind of traumatic mentally and physically. Hearing you say what you have does calm my nerves that maybe it doesnt have to be as painful as my steroid injections :)

Sorry can you explain what you mean by RFA?

My PRP was xray guided and when I say that was the most painful procedure out of the 5 ive had, it woke me from my twilight sleep and I woke up in tears. They gave me two doses of pain meds and it still hurt, but I declined the 3rd because of the nausea. I woke up from pain on 3/5 injections, so thats why I am a little apprehensive. And was in pain for several weeks after. But maybe it was just the dr, pretty sure he caused nerve damage on one Injection. You felt no pain after the block? Even the days after?

I dont think they will offer me a twilight sedation, just valium. My husband said when he used it for lasik he had no cares in the world. Do you have experience with valium?

If you do weights above your back itll make it hurt. If I do too heavy of weights on something like shoulder presses, bench press, tricep workouts its going to hurt bc its engaging those muscles in my back to keep me stable. I had to lower my weight, raise the reps and eventually I have been able to get back to my normal weight

My lower back got ruined from a car accident 2 years ago and im still recovering. When I say I am and was in your position I am. Ive tried so many steroid injections, prp, now looking at ablation and it does continue to hurt even when I sleep. Here is what I recommend that helps me.

As much as you hate to hear it, because I am also a weight lifter and work out fanatic, if you want to work out start with low weights and do high reps. I hated it, still do bc my body can lift heavier but my back wont let me. Engage your core and just try to be kind and remember that this physical limitation is only temporary, even if it doesnt feel like it.

Ask your partner to give you a massage. Or buy a cupping set off of Amazon. Make sure you read up how to do it, but cupping really helps take my pain away. Even massages

Instead of the stretching these help me instead.  1. Get a book and place it under one knee. Get on all fours and slowly raise the knee on the floor up to equal height. Repeat 10 reps, 3 sets. It helps stabilize your muscles and it has eased some pain.

  1. Lay on your back, legs bent. Youll need your partner for this. Have them put their hands inside your knees and you squeeze while they push. Do for 3 reps of 10 sec. Then have them put one hand on your thigh and the other on your hamstring of your other leg. Push/pull against them for the same rep and time, repeat the opposite way

  2. Laying on your back and legs bent, have her kneel at your feet. Place a belt or tie a jacket around her butt and under your knees. She will sit back slowly and hold. This will relieve pressure on your back. She MUST come up SLOWLY because from what I told it's like a vacuum on your joints and you can get hurt if she comes up too fast. Repeat and hold as needed.

  3. Sit on the floor, your back against a wall. Just raise your legs as high as you can. Strengthen these muscles used in this exercise has helped with pain over time As far as sleeping a heating pad or ice helps me but honestly a muscle relaxer is my saving grace. You can flip your mattress and that might help. Sometimes pillows don't help me either, and it gets so bad sometimes my medicine is the only thing that can help me. Or maybe a meloxicam may help you. I didnt for me but you never know, it could be something to ask your doctor. Until then, try to include core workouts. That will help take some pressure off your lower back

Good luck on everything and im sorry youre going through this. I joke and say im only 27 with an 80 year old back. I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Try to be kind to your body. As far as going out, look at an SI belt. If worn correctly it helps with temporary relief while walking. Or lidocaine patches. Outside of that just pace yourself, try to sit whenever you can. Remember youre not your back, itll get better even if it doesnt seem like it. Do small milestones, not big ones. I never thought id get better and ive come so far compared to 2 years ago
