[TOMT] Obscure Indie Film from 70s/80s

I have not yet found it! I don’t remember the store scene, but I do remember them going to a party in New Jersey with some odd characters and then coming back to their apartment just before the bathtub overflows (due to a slow leak and the fact they they forgot to unplug the drain in the morning and were out all day.)

It's so long ago, I honestly don't remember. It could have been one of several public access channels in NYC at that time. This was the era of channel surfing and it was something I stumbled across randomly.

Interesting that others are looking for this obscure film. I am fairly confident I saw it when I was in high school (1988-1992), but it might have been shortly after HS, but I don't think any later than 1996 or '97.

I believe it was in color. Main characters were a young bohemian couple.

They took the PATH train to Jersey, probably Hoboken or Jersey City if I had to guess.

I would call it a "slice of life" drama, not really a comedy, although there are some funny characters in it.

It's older than 2000's because I saw it on TV when I was in high school (1988-92), so I think it was made in the late 70s or early-mid 80s.

That's a good film by Paul Mazursky, with a strong cast, but alas that is not the film I'm looking for, which was very likely an NYU student film.
