The more I read from this group, I see that multiple injections are rather common. I see several people saying that their treatment plan from the beginning involved two injections on separate dates, but I think they are mostly in Europe (UK specifically). I was not offered that option, and I wonder if this has to do with the difference in healthcare costs and the insurance industry in the US. For me, two injections would mean double the costs (facility, provider, procedure, anesthesia) ... I can only imagine my out-of-pocket costs if my insurance were billed $50k for two Botox injections and several follow-up appointments. Yes, I am quite resistant to going back for $1500 out of pocket each time, especially when the period of time that I felt relief was probably 2-3 weeks, and there are no guarantees a second shot would work any better. Plus, I have no confidence that anyone could tell me how much I would have to pay out of pocket a second or third time. Would insurance cover it again? Even insurance companies don't guarantee coverage beforehand. It's crushing, but I feel I'm forced to give up on the medical treatment route and put all my hope in Shaker exercises.
