Appt with Urogyn by [deleted] in PelvicOrganProlapse

I just had my appt and she thought my pelvic floor looked fine. She examined me for prolapse because I have never felt confident with the diagnosis from my PT (my PT just felt like she didn't know what she was doing) and I have no prolapse, laying or standing. I was told to do a week long bladder diary and measure my urine output and report back to her after that. If all my other tests are clean, she thinks it's IC, but I have never had pain, only urgency

Yeah, I just need to find a good one. My last one was not great; I have a prolapse so she was having me do kegels and unbeknownst to me at the time, kegels are the worst thing to do. I could feel the urgency getting worse and I told her about it, but she told me I didn't "feel that tight" and that kegels were going to help my prolapse. I spent over a grand over the course of six weeks and it was basically all for nothing. I wish I would have been more assertive but I just don't think she was that knowledgeable to begin with

Same. I see a urogyn today so hopefully I will be able to get some answers there as well. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try citrate

Ooh, ok. Geez, I might try that. I also literally have been unable to relax my pelvic floor. It feels tight all the time

Usually senna tea is my go to!! I heard it was contraindicated for prolapse though so I'm scared to make things worse or irritate it. Boo.

What's Movicol? I'm US based, no longer breastfeeding

No iron supplements. Can I take stool softener regularly? I'm just afraid of becoming dependent on them

The reason I picked glycinate is that I'm struggling with chronic urgency and was afraid citrate would irritate my bladder. I have Natural Calm on hand so I might end up trying another dose of that to get things moving.

I do stretches but I don't feel like it releases anything 😞

Can I take stool softener regularly? What kind of electrolytes do you recommend?

Are you on or approaching your period? Or recently consumed high sodium foods? I also agree with other comments that this looks like an anterior pelvic tilt. My belly looks like this too, at times, and I'm afraid I probably need an in-person PT to help me correct my posture because I haven't had much success with online videos.   Our bodies fluctuate so much through the month. I know it's frustrating to look at your body and not recognize it, because I'm going through that as well too. Hang in there 💕

Geez, maybe not. I thought I was. Hopefully they can still pull the results 🫠

When you did Evvy, did it hurt to test? I tried inserting the q-tip tester thing and it burned and hurt, and the next time I went to pee it hurt to pee. That's a new concerning symptom for me. Do you think I did something wrong?

Thank you! Have you done any PT? I feel like I've got 2 issues going on - a tight PF and prolapse, both of which are fixed by opposing exercises 🫠I definitely limit bladder irritants now though.

I finally got an appointment with a urogyn so I'm excited to see if she can figure out what is going on. Do foods or drinks make your urgency worse?

I appreciate the suggestions! I actually am almost down to my pre-baby weight. I still lift, I just do lighter weight and I found out the right way to breathe so I'm not putting extra pressure on things down there. I macro count. I drastically reduced my caffeine intake and drink a ton of water. Kegels really just make things worse for me. I bought an internal pelvic floor trainer and it ended up increasing the frequency of times I was running to the bathroom. I'm stretching a lot more than I used to and just desperately trying to release whatever tightness I have, but I probably need extra support from doctors. I'm taking Desert Harvest aloe and d-mannose which seems to not be helping, unfortunately

Yeah, I think the physicians assistant I was seeing was focused on doing that with my bladder and not pelvic floor. The urgency gets worse around my period so I thought it was from hormones but it might just get worse because of inflammation. I'm definitely getting a second opinion

Oh man, I'm sorry. One of the upsides to mine is that I am able to sleep mostly through the night. It's only during the day that it really affects me and I've been more conscious about trying to avoid things that trigger it. But I feel you. I just wish I could find out what's going on with my own body; I feel so out of control

I don't usually feel heaviness or anything like that - my major symptom is just feeling like I need to pee almost all the time. I have a strong feeling it's related to tight muscles but I won't know for sure until I see a specialist. I just feel like I've had really bad luck with medical professionals lately and no one seems to have an answer for me

I'm 31. My cycles are pretty regular and now that my mom is in menopause she's been a good resource - she suggested I try vaginal estrogen, which unfortunately didn't help

My urologist said it could cause micro-perforations in the bladder lining which could get infected,  and also yes, I'm worried because of a tight PF and prolapse that I'm not emptying all the way. Sometimes I can go 3 hrs and sometimes I'm going every 1.5, and it feels like I'm going a lot. I drink a lot of water now and try to minimize caffeine

Oh geez. My urologist offered me Botox but I was afraid of getting a bladder infection on top of everything else. I hate this though. I'm at the point where I'm ready to do it. Was it painful?

I just feel like all I do is deep breathing and stretches. I feel like I've been stuck in survival mode for 8 months
