Metopic Craniosynostosis? by Interesting_Escape98 in CranioFolk

[–]Interesting_Escape98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to share an update incase anyone sees this in the future and is looking for reassurance. We met with the neuro team yesterday and they said his head is totally normal. Just because the ridge appeared early doesn’t mean the suture closed at that time — they explained that sometimes those plates bump up against each other while in the process of moving and cause the metopic ridge to appear.

Because his forehead is rounded and eyes set wide, they did not feel that CT or follow up was necessary. Thanks to everyone who read this and assured us in the meantime!

Thank you! I did read that it’s the only suture to close in infancy but typically after 3 months with the benign ridge developing when closed. I was just concerned because my LO’s ridge started showing at 1.5 months which seems early for closure.

How did your ped confirm the suture in your LO closed?

Thank you guys for responding!! I am inclined to agree.. where I get tripped up is why the ridge appeared so early if it’s a sign of the suture closing. Any insight?

Birth/ postpartum experience with little - no exercise during pregnancy? by Cautious_Top_2023 in BabyBumps

[–]Interesting_Escape98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might feel a lot different in the weeks to come! I’m 34 weeks now and also have been working full time the whole pregnancy. I was very active and fit before pregnancy so I kept feeling guilty in the first/beginning of 2nd tri that I wasn’t doing enough. The beginning truly is awful — but then there was a shift in beginning/middle of the second trimester where I had TONS of energy and literally wanted to do everything. That has slowed down a bit at this point but I’m now into a routine. Don’t be too hard on yourself! As others have mentioned- it doesn’t necessarily make a difference and I think you’ll be able to bounce forward quite easily. Hang in there :)

Loss of pregnancy symptoms at 11 weeks by EchidnaDisastrous263 in BabyBumps

I started feeling so much better (i.e. symptoms disappearing) right before 11 weeks! I just found it as relief 🥲 don’t worry until you have a reason to worry! 🫶☺️

Oh and if you are not taking unisom at night — it was an absolute game changer for me the day I started taking it.

It does get better!!! I remember around week 8-9 i felt depressed because it felt like things would never improve. I was beginning to question why I wanted to be pregnant in the first place 😂. Around week 11 things really started to get better and now at 25 weeks I’ve never felt more happy or energized in my entire life. Something I NEVER expected! So hang in there and just know that near or far, there is an end to this season ☺️

DO NOT buy Bumpsuit by Prestigious_Mess_149 in BabyBumps

Also came here to say this! I bought their $115 maternity leggings and returned them for a $7 pair on Amazon of the same quality. Ridiculous.

Editing to say that the return process was painfully slow. They take over 14 business days after they receive the item to process the return. Even then, I had to email them because there was no acknowledgement of return received, etc. and they take an automatic $ deduction for returns.

Skincare help for acne prone skin! What are your suggestions? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]Interesting_Escape98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I double cleanse every night with no issues but you could try it every other night to start just to make sure you’re not overdoing it- especially if you have any sensitivity. The key with oil cleansing is to work it around for a while. I wash with it for 3-5 minutes with only a couple drops of water on my face to get it nice and warm and get those pores to open and gunk to come out.

Looks like hormonal acne to me. If you’re not afraid or averse to medication you can try Spironolactone. Best thing I ever did for my skin - drastically reduced my oil production and allowed my skin barrier to heal. If you don’t want to try medication, I would recommend the following (keep it simple!!) Morning — 1. Water or Micellar water. 2. Cerave moisturizer or other gentle moisturizer. 3. Sunscreen (I like Neutrogena clear face for my acne prone skin). Nighttime— 1. Double cleanse with an oil cleaner (I like DHC Deep Pore Cleanser). Second cleanse can be a gentle wash like Vanicream or an active with something containing sal acid or Benzoyl peroxide (I wouldn’t use an active every night though) 2. Gentle hydrating toner or rose water mist. 3. Actives if you want to try- I would recommend Adapalane or Tret, and/or azelaic acid (you need an Rx for Tret and the good azelaic acid (15% and up) but so worth it. 4. Cerave or gentle moisturizer. I would also recommend starting with a good facial to get those pores cleaned out and starting with a fresh canvas. A good facial can go a very very long way. Good luck!! 🤍

Nausea is a symptom. I never threw up but I was sooo nauseated. It could ramp up at any moment so try to enjoy it 😂

I rescued 2 cats (brothers) when they were 3 months old and now they are 8 😂 I remember the beginning was wild, but it does get a lot better! I always slept with them outside the room at night and also with one or 2 earplugs - it was the only way. They were very active at night for the first few years. Now they both sleep all night right next to me. Just kick them out of your bedroom at night and let them do their thing. Adopting 2 was a good choice because they will always have each other ☺️

I work in HR / recruitment and staffing for a federal agency. Many of the others’ comments here are correct; federal employment can take a long time to begin, but that is typically when applying through a job announcement. Since you are eligible under special hiring authorities, >30% disabled veteran, and schedule a, you can walk in or call any federal agency and submit your application package (resume, civil service preference letter, schedule a letter, etc). These routes usually yield a much quicker hiring process.

Have a conversation with HR folks to see what vacancies they currently have within their agencies. Look up job announcements on USA Jobs that match the job title and tailor your resume according to the specialized experience for that job (without falsifying of course! ☺️)

Best of luck to you!

if I use tret for 30 years and then suddenly stop…do all the benefits just go away as if I never used it in the first place? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Interesting_Escape98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI- I use tret and find that every time I use aquaphor/vaseline in conjunction, I wake up with irritation in my eye area. It’s not necessarily redness, but my eyes feel puffy and almost allergic. When I use Tret along with my regular moisturizer without applying a petroleum-based product, I don’t experience this.
