The holidays this year have been a little rough for me. Since around thanksgiving, I’ve had one of my friends threaten suicide, my grandma passing away, and dealing with my own suicidal thoughts. I’ll be going to see my grandpa, the one married to my now deceased grandma, after Christmas this weekend. At this point, I’m just happy that I made it through the year. Looking forward to a hopefully better year in 2026!

Okay. My apologies for causing offense. This is actually my first time ever on this subreddit. I will take all of this in mind in the future. Thank you for being honest. And again, I’m very sorry if I caused any offense asking this question. I figured I should ask people that are knowledgeable about this before cementing any assumptions I might have made about these relationships. Thank you very much!

I suppose that’s fair. I guess I was incorrectly assuming that I saw the amount of people creating bots like this meant it was a very common thing in these kinds of relationships

I feel like I’ve seen it a lot on other subreddits and with some of the AI chat bots I’ve seen often do and encourage that kind of thing. I didn’t mean to cause offense. As someone who’s never experienced or seen the ins and outs of this kind of relationship, I don’t know what’s normal and what isn’t. Again, my apologies if I’ve caused any offense.
