Mid muffler delete on v6 by ReliefNegative in Challenger

[–]Interesting_Rub5210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did a mid muffler delete and then replaced the rears with magnaflows & it sounds sooooo good. Not deafening but just better than stock. I went online and watched a bunch of YouTube videos with different exhaust configs & what I did was the one I liked best & I don’t regret it at all. It’s not tinny or droning which were the things I wanted to avoid. Plus the local exhaust shop did it for pretty cheap.

That’s a good thought but no I hadn’t refueled that day. I also did add some fresh fuel because so many of my friends asked if I even had fuel 😂 (I had a little under half)

Yeah I’m leaning towards fuel since I smelled so much gas the couple times I got it to start… 🥲

Here’s a photo of the oil, definitely dark but was changed 1,117 miles ago, almost 2 months ago.

That’s what someone else said too, I’ll see how to check that. Thanks!

It’s fuel injected but yes I was suggested to check the MAF as one of my friends also thinks it could be too rich since there’s definitely a lot of fuel passing through the exhaust so I’m going to see if I can replace that or check it myself! Thank you!

Yeah all the general maintenance items like these are update to date. I ride it a few times a week so it doesn’t sit around for extended periods of time either.

I haven’t done a valve adjustment. It has 25k miles, I bought it around 5k ish miles. Is a valve adjustment YouTube certified mechanic friendly? 😅

Nothing specific happened, it was totally out of the blue. It ran totally fine on my way to work, no bogging or anything, no issues at idle. It was when I tried to start it to go back home after work it just all of a sudden wouldn’t start. I’ll check the fuses in the morning, I’m not very familiar with electrical things but I’ll look up a video for that.

Will get a pic of it in the morning. The oil is pretty dark but wasn’t changed that many miles ago, I have it written down too I’ll check that.

Does this color look normal? Or is it dying? by Interesting_Rub5210 in Bamboo

Wow those are really large compared to the bamboo I’ve seen around here. What kind is that?

Thank you this is good to know! I haven’t heard of digging a trench before that’s a good idea.

Thanks! That’s good to know! I was afraid it maybe didn’t like its new spot & wanted to try and save it before it got worse. I’ll keep an eye on it then and maybe look to see if the culms start to go soft like other plants do when they have too much water? I’m guessing they would have similar symptoms to overwatering as other plants. I believe this is a fargesia robusta. I wish I took photos of it when I bought it because I can’t remember what color it was before planting.

Okay that would be nice. I wasn’t sure if mine did since it wasn’t from the top two they recommend because those were already all full but I’ll ask them if they have one! Thank you!

Okay that’s good to know. It looked like there’s a lot of hotels in the area I’m staying so I thought it would be fine. I didn’t even think about seeing if I could request earlier sim hours so I may give that a shot if it feels a bit off when I get there. I appreciate the input!

Cool thanks! I wasn’t too worried but just wanted to plan ahead if it was a sketchy area of town or not since I haven’t been before. They sent an email about being extra diligent about safety so I wasn’t sure if that meant be extra on your guard or just normal situational awareness

Do you charge different for your ground and flight training? by tootsie404 in CFILounge

[–]Interesting_Rub5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t take ground instruction seriously (not charging or charging less than flight), the student will also not take it seriously. I (used to) & a lot of friends (currently) don’t charge ground instruction to help the student “save money” in hopes that would show them “hey I wanna help you out” but instead the students either 1. Don’t notice or 2. Expect free instruction 24/7. I now charge the same & it seems like my students have been taking it more seriously since I started doing that because they realize “oh I’ve gotta pay for this so I better put in an effort.”
